RRM's ecu upgrade

In getting the RRM ecu upgrade can you make modifications to the car and it will adjust? Is it a one time thing or do you have to keep upgrading? With going turbo as well?

LancerXtreme Sep 10, 2003 12:07 PM

Not with the Turbo ECU. You would runn too rich and damage your engine. Thus the reason for them selling the NA ECU's and the Turbo ones.

LancerXtreme Sep 10, 2003 12:08 PM

And with the more mods you add to the car. The better the ECU will perform.

yes, the NA ECU mod will adjust to added mods automatically. But as said above, it won't work if you add a turbo. So if you plan on getting a turbo, I suggest you do that first and then order the Turbo ECU.

If i were to buy the N/A ecu and when i get the turbo send it back for another upgrade to turbo (not exactly on the one I sent back but a regular ecu) think they would drop the price of it? Do you get what I'm saying or should I try to explain it again.

If i were to buy the N/A ecu and when i get the turbo send it back for another upgrade to turbo (not exactly on the one I sent back but a regular ecu) think they would drop the price because I sent back an already upgraded ecu for an N/A engine? Do you get what I'm saying or should I try to explain it again.

I think Rob can tell you best. call him, i think i saw that he can cut you a deal but still has to charge you because he gets charged to flash the ecu's

urbanknight Sep 10, 2003 12:26 PM

Rob is trying to think of a way to do something like that. There will probably be a discount on exchanging previous ECU upgrades, although it might not be much because he might have to alter the exchanged ECU anyway. I'd PM Rob (Rock) and ask if he's come up with a price or system for such an exchange yet. He's too busy making ECUs for the autos at the moment to post additional info. And if he can't do such an exchange, I suppose you could always sell your NA ECU to someone in exchange for their unaltered one and then send that in for the turbo upgrade. And yeah, I understood what you were asking the first time ;)

If I remember correctly, wasn't Rob gonna charge like another $200 for the secondary reflash? I THINK that's what he said he was gonna do when they announced the reflash

DEVOTED Sep 10, 2003 07:55 PM

or you could just trade your reflashed ECU to some non evo net readin pansy for $700 and get your turbo one with some spare change.

These questions have already been answered in the main reflash thread. Refer all questions (that haven't already been answered of course), to that thread.
