Exclamation Timing Belt

Just a general question here folks. It is coming time soon to have my timing belt changed. My questionn is, since I have aftermarket mods on my vehicle, will it be possible for me to take it to the dealer to have it done ??

By the way, it is out off all warranties except for the paint. Thanks.

It should be fine but why not take it somewhere else? It might be cheaper at some other performance shop that could give a damn about any mods.

Dealership is fine. It's not like it's warranty work. You're paying them for service. They'd be stupid to refuse you.

Incidentally, as mentioned, take it elsewhere. It'll be cheaper that way. The dealership generally charges double the hourly rate of other shops...

i had my timing belt replaced at 25,000 --- long story but it has to do with me installing my headers and messing something up -n1te knows all about it haha.. but ya take it else where and no real need for aftermarket timing belts as they really arent that much better than oem

easy take a look at it urself-- unscrew timing belt cover.. look at the belt.. if it has wear replace if not keep on driving.. keep in mind if our timing belt ever fails our engine is blown plan and simple the pistons and rods will crash against the wall in ur engine and bam new engine.. so yes i would say around 60k would be good

Rule of thumb on timing belts.

Replace it at 60K and seals since it's already out in the open. Check the waterpump to.

It's really hard to tell wear on a timing belt just be peeking through the cover. That's why manufactures suggests 60 - 90K miles.

I personally seen T-belts cracking at 90K. T-belts with self tensioners ( hydraulic ) do last longer than one's w/out.

Better be safe than get stuck in the middle of nowhere.
