do i need to get a new cat the recall said my cat was bad so they reflashed my pcm ... now its back again code 421 do i need a new warm up cat?

 

No... according to what I've been reading lately on this forum the code is for actually one of the two O2 sensors. I just forgot much one it was though.

 

around $300 from the dealer i believe.

 

IF I WAS to get one it would be from rrm the highflow one

 

emission relted parts should still be covered. at least they are in california,, dealers must cover it up to 7 years/100k miles i think

 

I just went in and got mine reflashed and it's fine now. if it's part of the recall i think thats on Mitsubishi and not you.

 

9 out of 10x's it is the sensor and not the cat...therefore just as lookslikeanevo said: mitsu should be paying for it. they didnt pay for mine because....well i cut mine out before the PCM reflash.

SLVROZ, the code pulled should be in bank 1 sensor 2 if it is the recall...in other words, downstream o2 sensor in your cat.
