I have been searhcing/emailing everyone to get some information.. Here is some information I got from the guy who imported the VII RS into Colorado for racing, this is what he said when i asked him about importing the EVO VII to the us, and also asked him if he had any information about the VII coming to the US:

It's a long and can be a difficult process. MMUS (Mitsu Motors US)
will be bringing something close to the Evolution approx 12 months from now.
That's pretty much the timeline for you to get one by other means
unless you have ALOT of money. Here was my response to someone else asking
about it.

I ordered it back last Spring for a production run that occurred in
Aug. It made it to Barcelona, Spain in Late Oct and into the US around
Christmas time. Customs paperwork can be very very complicated.
Consult with a good lawyer if before you purchase a car to bring it
over. Race cars are supposed to be exported or destroyed within 12
months of entry. I managed to get an exception so that I can keep the
car in the US permanently. The other option is to have the car
disassembled overseas, import it as automotive parts (the chassis
cannot
be one piece) and then reassemble it here.

If you need contacts overseas for getting one into the US please feel
free to drop me a line. I have many contacts in New Zealand and
Western Europe. For the average joe to bring one in you can count on 30,000
british pounds (approx $42,500 US) for a streetable RSII (the street
version). Another $5,000 to have is disassembled, shipped and
reassembled or to do it the street legal way you put down %150 of the
value of the car as bound to the US govt to show that you will bring it
to US DOT and EPA standards and then another $5000-$10000 to bring it
into compliance.

If you bring in a car as a race car and attempt to register it without
it being raced it's a felony. Another thing to keep in mind. If you
wait 12 months, MME (Mitsu Motors Europe) will be supplying MMUS (Mitsu
Motors US) with the "EON".. The Evolution name and parts belong to
'Ralliart' not to Mitsu so the newer model will come as the 'EON'.

I'm not sure what form it will appear but unless you have $60,000 to
blow on bringing in a real 'Ralliart' version, you may want to see what
MMUS appears with..

I think this is the info you were looking for. It appears that
'Ralliart' and Mitsubishi have settled their court case by renaming and
potientially changing the parts on the US version.

If you need the contacts, drop me a line. I do not believe that it is
economical to bring a lancer into the US unless you are going to
compete with it.

Throwing this into the bucket...

Exclamation

Speaking from experience, don't expect exact pricing until the last minute before the cars are available. They don't want to tip their hat to the competition. When the new Eclipses came out, we didn't get pricing until after the first 2 had already hit the lot.....They overnighted us the window stickers to put in the window. (Technically, we weren't even supposed to display those two units until we got the stickers)

I guess that I'd expect some final specs/date/distribution sometime within the next couple months...they're going to have to start/already have started production in the near future, so I'm bettin somethin will probably come in either March or April.
