Meh, talk to me in 8 years, 18 or 28 even. Stock rims will still look nice if they are cleaned regularly. Paint will wear off a little every time they are cleaned. But if you only care about a few years, you'll be fine.

That may be but for $4.95 in 8 yrs i can make them look brand new all over again with no regular maintance, plus i wash my car twice a week...no fading.

lol thats what i get by posting two questions in one thread, i never said anything about painting the rims, i just wanted to buy some paint for accenting stuff, but i decided not to sell the rims anyway cuz chicago has some mean winters and low profs will prolly handle like ****, so ima keep em for winter, yea im prolly gonna buy a paint gun, spraypainting can only look so good, even if u rock at it like me, plus im takin auto body next year (yea thats rite im in high school) theyll prolly teach me how to really paint.

oh yea, and 300 bucks is like less what i paid for my yokohamas on there like 4000 miles ago anyway so that a rip on my side. if i could get like 500 for the wheels and tires id take it tho, but my wheels are curbed to hell from the previous owner so nobody wants em anyway

those wheels are worth more just holding on to them. if you go to sell your car, but want to keep your wheels, then you can put on the stock ones. i have seen them sell for as low as $50 per wheel on ebay. hell, if nothing else, you could get a cheap set of tires and just have fun with those.

ive seen them go for as low as 100 in the for sale section... but they tend to go from between 150-250... depends on if anyone is looking for a set when you are selling

It's not fading, that's like my students who chew gum while playing flute and say they're not hurting anything, then cry when 5 months later the pads are rotted and leak so they can't play anything. Washing painted rims rubs a little of the paint off each time. But you're right, at $4.95 you could repaint them 15 times before it costs as much as powder coating.
