Question Radar Detector?

Do you have one in your car, if so what kind?
What are your opinions about having/using one, are they helpful and worth the money?

I have had my viper detector for about two years and it works great if the police in your area use a laser to check speeds here in PA it does not work but when I drive up to michigan it works great and has saved me a few tickets to and after I got one my speeds realy slowed down ha ha it gets set off alot some times and I just drive slower now after haveing it
here is a tip put the detector low on the front window

^^ doest look like you have radar mounted high enough to allow perfect detection from the rear, maybe raise it up and make sure you can see your radar detector standing eye level with your trunk.

I belive it should be low on the window because the cop is going to aim at your front bumper and if its to high it will miss the laser, and i picked mine up at best buy and I think jammers are illegal not detector ?

Passport 8500 X50 FTW

middle of the windshield is ideal, but then they can give you a ticket for having it up there, I have mine low center. And anyway, if you\'re picking up the laser hit, it\'s much too late.

FWIW jamming devices are not illegal in all states, google around to find out for your area

Valentine 1 is the only way to go...jammers are always illegal and they require more work cause once you get hit and the light goes off to tell you that...you ahve to turn the jammer off and slow down before the cop tries pinging you again.

v1 is outdated byfar and o yes it picks up x band farther then anyother radar detector so what though where i live x band is never related to a speed radar. also it does beat most with laser also but ive seen Ka used by highway patrol then laser. http://www.radartest.com/article.asp?articleid=9090

http://www.radarbusters.com/google/d...radardetectors

just because the V1 costs more doesnt mean it is better.
