Angry Mount a Laptop Passenger Side, Need Suggestions!

Alright, I've found people on ebay that will sell a mounting kit (built themselves) to mount a laptop to the passenger side of the car (passenger seat bolt) that sell for around $50. I can get one of these installed for around a total (parts & labor) $75. Now, I rather design something myself, and have the peice of mind knowing that I did it, and if it ****s up, I can blame myself =) Besides I dont want to fork out $280 for this http://www.mobiledesk.com/trek.htm - With that in mind, I need some opinions or some insight on what I will need, and how to do this. As you can probably already tell... I'm on a big slump when it comes to the arts and crafts part of building such a thing. I need it to swivel, and adjust any whichway. I can go to a hardware store and pick up whatever. ****, if anyone in San Diego wants to throw down some help, I'd appreciate it. None the less, post your opinions, and suggestions, and I'll get on my way to mounting. I'll glady throw up some pics when/if I get this finished.

Thanks

As if there weren't enough reasons to wreck your car...

I'll keep my eyes open for plans. I think I stumbled onto some a couple years back. If I find anything, I'll let you know.

Yes I can say "accident". Though you wouldn't be using the computer like you do at home. Batch files, scripts, hotkeys, or voice recognition make it just about as easy to operate a computer as it would be to operate your HU.

What are you planning to use it for? If its just to play mp3s, just get an mp3 cd player. Now if your trying to play counter-strike while stuck in traffic then hell yea do that.

LOL, check it. I have an Alpine 7894, it does play mp3s, but that's never enough. I was thinking so visual aid (winamp screensaves, whatever it may be) along with a playlist. Of course voice recognition, scripts, and hotkeys are a MUST! ANd it looks badass. I have about 200 albums in mp3 format converted from my original cds, using a playlist is much easier on a laptop than using a deck. Also.. ATI makes a pcmia video input card... which would allow a playstation hookup. And, Richochet wireless interent... speaks for itself, and/or a WiFi net card. Keeps the passengers entertained, and I travel quite a bit. Perhaps a DVD playing, or something just to ease the bordom of driving for hours and hours, I don't care how fast your car is, driving from florida to california is no fun, especially driving through texas. I got a mount setup being done this weekend, I will gladly post pics... and if you guys like it, I'll give ya some insight. THanks.
