I love my OZ but.....

Damn do I feel like I made a mistake! The car is nothing but looks! Unless your turbo or drop NOS in it, it has no potential. Have a cat back exhaust, intake, and strut bar, and I have to do a throttle body and ignition, just to get enough power to not suffer going up grades on the freeway. And of course the Rims are just too small. By the time I finish the mods I could have bought a better car. Blah.... just venting.

Complaining for all of us who want more power!

Its good man

Just think you have a 2.0 4 cylinder in there. You have a lot of room to work with when its only pushing 120 hp. Ive got an OZ also and if you look under the hood what do you see? Lots of space and I mean lots. That means room for a big *** turbo baybe hell yeah. If you have an exaugst and intake tell me what you got I am looking around and studying up on it for a year. I got to pay this thing off by the end of the year. Well just tryin to hepl you out. By the time IM done with mine I hope to have a two wheel EVO.:headbng2: hahahahahaha! oh well whateverver you say man I will keep you posted if I find something you should check out.

Just make sure to get an LSD for that thing...and a beefy suspension, bigger brakes, etc. Like someone great said (or maybe a TV ad): Power is nothin without control. Plus...lots 'o boost needed to match Evo power. New engine internals for above 7-8 psi will be necessary, at least for longevity purposes.

room to work with....

Ya... there is room to work with, but it will cost a lot to get it to have descent power. Plus you have reliability issues with a turbo.

17 - 18k out the door on an OZ (after tax license etc. I paid more for the 100k warranty), 3200 - 3600 for a turbo, 150 for FPR with guage, $100 minimum for an intake, $300 for magnaflow exhaust, $1600 - 1700 for billet rims and tires, $?? for ECU mods for Turbo, $350 for Feul / Air System, $160 short shifter, $150 for a nice sounding blow off valve, Big $650 for a Brake Kit or $250 for powerslot rotors, $50 - 100 for pads, plus the little extras you do too.

Approx $7,000 after everything. After that I might have 200hp.... wooohoooooo. Isn't the WRX somewhere around that price range with more HP?

The Rex runs about 225 at the flywheel. Then you also have to remember, they can only go up... An FMIC and a bit more boost will help them...Plus, AWD is a nifty bonus.

Rex = WRX pronounced pseudo-phonetically.

I don't see what your complaint is, you bought a cheap car now you are complaining about having too little engine LOL

Thats like buying an Accent and wondering why its slow

Do you have a stick or an auto??? If you have an auto that is your main problem...... Then also, consider the other cars in its class Hyundai Elantra, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus, etc.... All cheap all with small engines....... The only car in its class that really can all around stick with the Lancer is the Nissan Sentra....... I don't know I just think the Lancer is one of the best compact cars available right now, but that is just my opinion

I agree with the power issue, but think about what u paid, and its still faster than a civic, i beat a stock EX the other day, they only crank out about 118 hp i think, plus, as they were saying, lots of room under that hood, with about 5 grand, u could have a turbo and other necessary upgrades, maybe some rear discs to make it look better. Then you may have spend 20Gs on it or so, but hey, how many cars can u find around 20 thousand with over 200 horsepower. The closest thing would be a WRX, and ur lookin at around 28
