kit waste

this kit was a waste. i found the same felt somewhere else for about 1.00 . The write up was poorly done and the felt wasnt even cut in 4 pieces like it said it would be.

im not 100% if the adhesive on the felt was the same as what I found for less but it was quite similar a better write up would have satisfied me more...

...just my two cents

How hard is it to cut a length of felt in four places?

The generic cheap *** moleskin will NOT WORK! It falls off in a week so you can't compare that crap to Tint Protectors.

Regarding the instructions. They ask at the bottom of the last page to submit any suggestions or improvements you may have to them via email. They are willing to listen and improve them. ALL YOU NEED TO DO is write them with suggestions.

Instead you write here and bad mouth a good product that has helped many save their tint.

pffft

i prefer not to email them because the only suggestion i would have is simply "dont be lazy and produce a half a$$ how to". other than telling them that the only other thing i could do is rewrite the tutorial for them but id rather not.

if their moleskin design is so innovative they would produce better installation instructions for people who have never taken their car apart (luckily im on my 2nd lancer i have an 08 and 09). a good product is always backed by good service and good support.

and yes it wasnt that hard to cut the felt myself but if these kits are specifically designed for this application they should be produced in the proper dimensions. and they shouldnt advertise "Just peal and stick! It's that easy." Nope.
you wouldnt expect to buy an intake form injen and have to drill holes to hold your maf sensor now would you ? i mean how hard is it to drill holes ????

it has helped many save their tint yes, the advertisement of the product also claims their adhesive is top of the line and that "A felt that is too thick or has weak adhesive will detach after a short time leaving your tint with glue all over it."

if you read this thread you will read users complaining of glue on their tint... hmm?

Glue on their tint from the Generic moleskin NOT Tint Protectors.

So your saying they have bad customer service? How would you know?

I've only heard VERY good things about their customer service. That is why they are so recommended. They will always take care of you.

Grow up.

yes

providing a poorly written write up is bad service. instead of trying to rush the install guide to "get the product out" they could have taken a few extra hours to write a better install guide.

this is just my opinion. I am an engineer and I write reports, guides, and user manuals for my Research and Design work, and every time I see a half *** guide it ticks me off because it just takes a little more effort to produce a better guide.

i mean if the product is that great the guide should be decent also. also the moleskin should come pre-cut so their advertisement "just peel and stick" is not false.

You should work on your grammar and capitalization then. Every time I see a poser like you it makes me sad.

DUDE! You take ONE second to cut the moleskin in half then you can peel and stick it. You must be a horrible customer to deal with in all areas of life.

Tint Protector stops your window tint from scratching period!

^^^ Ok TintProtector Rep. Quit being a douche and instead of not trying to find ways to resolve a problem and insulting someone, why don't you tell your company to put out a comprehensive install for people that don't have any idea how to take apart their door panel.

he gave you ways to improve your product. why don't you take that advice from a REAL consumer to IMPROVE your product instead of wasting your time being a grammar ****.

Pushing your product on people will not make them buy it.

and don't even give me that "I'm not a TintProtector Rep." crap beause normal consumers DO NOT push products the way reps. (yes you) do.

so question, has anyone actually been ballsy enough to put the tint on their car without any moleskin or felt imitation? i live down here in the great hot as hell state of texas and i'm afraid that either product i get is gonna melt off and get stuck in the window space. has anyone put tint on w/o the protectors and seen major scratching? has anyone put it on and seen nothing at all?

My installer ended up trimming off the molding that contacts the inside of the window. there is slight wind noise increase but no scratching of the tint.

They installed a two inch wide piece of felt and the glue ended up getting all over the window so I decided to just cut the thing and be done with it. It's been good ever since, about three months now.

dude, thanks for the info!! i've been wanting to get tint for so long now but never heard of anyone getting it without moleskin. this definitely helps me change my decisiono to just go ahead and get it! what is your average heat per day in WI? anyone else out there also not put the moleskin on and see no problems?? i'm so easyily influenced i probably only need to hear one other person saying no problem! lol

During the summer when I got it tinted, temps got up to 90F wiht 85% humidity....that's some hot sticky steamy ****. That was when the glue got all gooey and nasty so I just decided to have them cut the piece. No problems since

ok, so its only a little hotter here then, sweet man. when you say cut the piece, do you mean remove it completely?
