Amby's dyno day
I'm considering selling my car for a brand new Scion TC. It's not like I'm racing or speeding...might as well get something comfortable and ok looking. But then Lancer...it's almost paid off...
Also, i am boosted and i have the ported 4g93 manifold, rrm header, full exhuast, rrm TB, magnum rail.
The car is pretty fast, especially compared to stock. Plus i like knowing that i turned a >100whp car into a car that denies alot of NA import any sort of satisfaction.

I just saw a black cobalt ss yesterday at the movies and it looked really nice. I am actually thinking about it as well... Whats the difference between the cobalt and srt-4 besides the turbo/supercharger and looks?

Lol, yeah it right pissed me off. It's not just the dyno, it's other things too. At the moment the only way I can make power is by turboing. Well if I do that sure it'll be fast, but it won't be reliable (lets me realistic here). It also squeaks and groans all the damn time, the paint is less than stellar and the suspension leaves much to be desired in terms of a balance between comfort and performance.

I say you will be disappointed with the outcome because it is not going to be as fast as you expect and you are going to end up wasting more money stage 2 upgrades.

The motor is different as well. The previous SRT-4 had the engine out of the turbocharged PT cruiser (I think). The Cobalt has an ecotec engine which is pretty new.

I don't see how someone can say the Cobalt is crap. The engine is proven to be very reliable and able to handle a lot of power and it comes with a 100000 mile, 5 year warranty. My mitsubishi came with a 60000 km, 3 year warranty, new mitsubishi's come with a 100000 mile, 10 year warranty.

CAN I GET AMEN!!!! I have done EVERY imaginable suspension mod and my lancer still handles like crap. The car makes all kinds of weird noises, the paint sucks and I guarentee you if you turbo your lancer, you are going to be disappointed with the outcome.

People with foreign cars are ALWAYS going to think American cars suck and vise versa. They just want to think they have the best machine. It's the same deal with playstation and xbox. The best thing for you to do is testdrive every car and decide for yourself and read lots of reviews. I wish I did that 6 years ago before I bought the lancer; But I was 16 at the time and was mesmerized by the yellow, body kit and OZ Rally accents. Haha, But I guess Mitsubishi did their job.

That said, if you are that depressed about your car then it might not be such a bad idea to move on to something with more power.
