I have a 99 Mirage LS Coupe and i was just wonderin if anyone knows were i could buy a EVO 4G63 engine to put in it....if its in japan that is ok, and i am pretty sure it will fit but the only thing im bumbed about is that it wont be AWD only FWD..
i got a EVO V, Body Kit on it so it looks like a 2 door evo V its pretty nice lookin now i just wanna drop in my new engine and then do my interior.. but if anyone has any info on were i could possible get a EVO VII GSR engine (4G63 with turbo)

Really, that would be something i can look into i want to go to japan and find a good junk yard with a wrecked EVO in it and maybe take out some of the parts but im still thinkin on what to do.. but ill look into the AWD conversion cause i would like to have it AWD.... Thanks
First off, I have been researching for this topic for more than a year and this is what I found out.
(1) Converting a Mirage into AWD will required cutting and weiding of your trunk "floor" (the bump of the spare tire well will be on the way of the rear transfer case)
(2) Only EVO IV+ engine will fit into 97+ Mirage
(3) You have to have at least $4000+ to get the 4G63T engine...
There're some more thing for this conversion. Just let me know what else do you want to know.

Ah yeah that sounds like alot of work thats why im thinkin of just findin a Eclipse Gts engine and puttin it in there cuase it should fit... and its the same motor as the evo IV i think, One of the evo's i know that but thanks for the info
If you're thinking about putting the Eclipse 4G63T into the Mirage, it will cause even more trouble than getting the EVO IV+ 4G63T. Since the Eclipse's 4G63T is facing the other way compare to the Mirage engine.
So you'll have to re-weid all the mounts. However, the EVO IV+ engine is the same orientation as the 97+ Mirage engine.
If you're thinking of getting more power to your mirage without a tons of work, there's a company in Australia producing a turbo kit for the 1.8 and 1.5 Mirage now. So this might be an alternative.

if you went the awd way would everything fit ? going from a 4 door to a 2 door? What's the difference in length or shape? Just being curious...
Other than that, given you have all the necessary parts, the only difference I can think of is the length of the drive shaft. (No center differencial for EVO IV/V/VI)
