Barrow an Evo and tell the other guy that you've just put a body kit on.

 

He He thats funny. the only problem is im in Canada and there is no evo exept the X wich i havent even seen on the streets.

 

How to beat an SI, here we go again..., seriously you can get a head start but once he gets into the high rpm range he's got 50hp more and a lighter car, and you don't. I say love your car for what it is and you will have some peace of mind, unless you're very serious and have a lot of $$$ to dump at your car then get a turbo, use nitrous (the unsafe way ) or strip your car's interior to the metal. Sure you can do the usual mods such as pulley, intake, exhaust, spark plugs blah blah blah but then you would be in a different category and you would be close to a stock SI but you would lose to a modded one.
So just don't worry about it.

 

Well you have the 08 GTS and it looks really close to the X. Ask the dealer for a test drive and then just drive it to where you're gonna meet the guy. Might get into a little trouble though.

 

i say spray a good 50 shot or 75 shot of nitrous. might beat him or give him a good run.

 

Borrow an STI or a WRX then.

ok no point racing the Si but how bout his 02 1.8t automatic jetta .he says he will probably beat me. again its stock 180hp atomatic slushie and i think for that jetta 0-100km is 7.7 same as me not 100% sure

 

most likely he will win with the si, maybe the 1.8T also. they have more power... if it really bothers you that your car is slower after that consider how much money you are willing to spend to make it as fast as you desire, and consider other makes/models, whatever works with your budget. My guess is that you will get walked, so if that will really get you down dont set yourself up for disappointment

 

how about this. trade your Lancer in on an 08 Mazdaspeed 3. then have all the fun you want against Civic SIs and 1.8 Jettas. i have a stock GTS and my wife has a stock Mazda 3 5 door. needless to say the Mazda spanks my GTS off the start and down the track. damn that 2.3L
BTW both cars are automatics.

 

to sum this up... u need a new car, or a supercharger/ turbo kit / nos.

not even sure if nos will work. depending on what shot it is.

 

Nitrous (NOS is a name brand) is a bad idea, you might beat him once but you could seriously damage the motor in the process (and who gets the last laugh then?).

 

how hard is it to get 30 hp peak power with bolt ons? the 1.8t is 180hp peak the lancer is 152 peak. the 1.8t weights 3155 (-) and the lancer 3032 (+for me) . if i get 30 peak hp ill be at 182.and im sure ill beat it.
