hey guys whats up, ive been lurking in this forum for a while now and need some help. my girlfriend is in the market for a new car. her current car, a 2001 dodge neon, is peice of crap. shes put so much money and time into this car that shes fed up with it and selling it. she is now looking a lancers. she like the way they look but doesnt know much about 'em. now my question is how relaible of a car is the lancer. she needs something that she shouldnt have to worry about, only routine things like oil and fliuds. also is there anything i should look for when checking out lancers. she might get a used one so are there things i should look for. basically any info u can give me would be great. thanks

i've had my lancer for a year, and it has 30,000 miles on it, I have not had one problem yet, so far all i've done is oil changes..

hey thanks that does help....some one told her that lancers are **** cars and not reliable...i thought they were so thats why im asking...anymore info would be great...thanks

yup, my car is 21k miles old and not a single problem...

 

28k miles and only replaced my AC compressor (covered by warranty). I'd say that's reliable so far.

 

i have 49k on mine and i modded it like crazy and and even had some real bad bumps on the road, but no problems at all. and besides- look at it, isnt it beautiful??? i think the lancer looks kick ***.

 

almost 23k, no problems yet whatsoever. the better you take care of it, the more it takes care of you.

 

the only reason why ppl dun like this car is it's a slow *** car...
but hell~I love it!

 

A dodge Neon is probably faster than a Lancer. Atleast I know the new ones are like the Neon SXT. Since I raced one and lost. Only 2-3 foot ahead of me and he had just an exhaust.

39000 miles since may of 02 and i havent had a single problem other than my stupid exhaust fallin off of its mount and meltin my bumper.. i dont know about that whole losin to a neon thing there pumpdog, the only 2 ive raced have gone down in shame, it must be my decals adding all that extra horsepower i needed ....

 

32K mi. and a turbo for 10K mi. no problems

 

Those Neon R/T's are pretty fast. One of those beat my friend's Silverado Z-71 (one of his cylinders wasn't firing though).

 

i have 24k on mine, got it about a year ago wiht no problems
