What else do i need for piston install.

I Have the: 4 Pistons, 4 Rings, 4 Pings and a bunch of other circular crap. This guy said I Need new bearings and gaskets. Is this true? do i have to spend like 700 bucks on this stuff? What did you other turbo guys end up doing and who installed the pistons for you?

thanks for the help.

Unless you know EXACTLY what you're doing, pay someone. Yes, you need gaskets. Bearings isnt' a bad idea either. And by 4 rings, I hope you mean a complete set of 16 rings (4 first, 4 second, 8 scraper, 4 expander) Not sure if we run a floating or pressed pin, but I'm going to assume pressed, which should also be done by someone with some know how. You've also got to break the glaze on the cyclinder walls, etc. etc. etc.

Basically, if you need to ask these questions, I'd suggest you pay someone else to do the work. A piston job isn't a simple bolt on. It's serious business.

new head gasket, head studs, and head washers are MANDATORY

with the JEs you should have 2 piston rings per piston, and 1 oil ring per piston, thats 12 rings altogether

i paid 970 to have my turbo kit removed, the pistons placed in, and everything back together

i would get new connecting rod bolts from mitsu too, dont want your rods fallin out, what other gaskets are there, maybe intake and exhaust gaskets, but thats it

iv ehad my engine rebuilt 2 times, ask me anything
