New Member - new (used) 2002 Lancer OZ
Just a short introduction since you will likely see me in here from time to time in the future.
Just bought a 2002 Lancer OZ from a good friend with 150K. I've been familiar with it since he bought it years ago and since the price was a steal, I didn't bother giving it a once over or taking it somewhere for a full check out. Some things have become obvious the more I become acquainted with this vehicle (every car has it's own little qwerks).
Some issues I'm aware of:
Broken Temperature knob (oh god... the dreaded HVAC knob - I've been lurking on here)
Clutch issue (just fixed... I think... maybe caused more issues)
new Clunk sound while accelerating (front or reverse) - (wasn't there until I fixed the clutch)
Oil leak or burning oil (not sure which yet)
Some worn motor mounts (discovered this during clutch repair)
Worn Inner Tie-rod (passenger side)
Shudder/Vibration in floor when braking at high speed (maybe related to Inner Tie-Rod?)
That's all I can remember regarding issues I'm aware of so far with this vehicle. My previous car was a 1995 Honda Civic and I loved that car. I hope to resolve all these issues with this new baby and become as intimately familiar with it as I was with my Honda.
