well my cel came on at 36000 miles...figures, anyways i took to a place to get it scanned and they say it was throwing a lean code, i dont know why it would be doing that, all the mods i have in intake, test pipe, and catback

anyone have any suggestions?

 

might be a worn o2 sensor..

 

can't you just throw a MIL eliminator on the test pipe sensor and be good to go?

 

What octane gas do you use? If you use anything other than regular, try some fuel injector cleaner. Might be clogged injectors.

 

yah josh, i am thinkin your injectors have some **** in them.

 

My CEL light was on for a while. The dealer thought it was the sensor too. I must have taken it back there like 8 times and nothing worked. Finally, we figured out that it was the carbon fiber altezza lights that I had put on, had a bad wire. I put my stock lights on and the light went off. It could be a number of things. Is your car still under warranty?

 

yea car is still under warrenty, but they said its throwing a lean code, my turbo kit is coming in a week so im pretty sure that gonna void warrenty,and its not the test pipe becuz i've had it on there for like 5 months will nothin, ill try cleanin the injectors, if that doesnt work ill probably get a new o2 senor

yup i have the same annoying code BANK 1 TO LEAN i think its my O2 sensor cuz i have checked everything else but i also have more mods that might be causing it im stumped too so ur not the only one with the same problem and im at about 34Kmi so this might be a pattern lol if ya fix it let me know please!!! good luck

 

yea the light is still on, i was reading in the magizine the other day , about not have a cat on, will like lean out the fuel somewhat, i have the mag somewhere, ill out my cat back on when i have time and see if that helps, but im still stumped, i dont really wanna take it to the dealership, and i want it fixed before i throw my turbo on

 

i dont think mitsubishi knows the meaning of the word warranty .

 

taking off the second cat wont do anythig but throw a cat ineficency code
it wont leane out mix

 

I got the same code, saying my car was running lean. I got it checked by good ole Mitsubishi and it ended up being the gas cap! Charged me 60 bucks those punks!

 

Josh--did you check your cap? Maybe!?!

 

yea its probably the cap.. a loose cap triggered mine 3 times.. just reset the ecu and you're good to go
