Info on HID's? TALK HERE
hey everyone, for my next mod i wanna do an HID kit, and im not talking about those bulbs that you can buy at autozone and pepboys, im talkin about the real deal, to sum it up: the expensive kind. Anyway, what i would like to know is suggestions of brands people have gotten, prices, and what wattage you think looks the best that people have been happy with thus far.
Also if you want be sure to fill me in on any kind of problems you have encountered with certian brands and/or pricing so i know to stay away from them. Legalization is not a concern of mine so please dont inform me or whats legal and what isnt, im well aware of it already. i would do a search but id rather have everyones opinions voiced at one time, plus people may have a different opinion from then vs now. thanks ahead of time |

i just went to court for the HID's i installed on my gf accord. she got a ticket for blue lights. they are 8k kelvin, i used them on my s-10 for over 2 years no problem. i suggest hidexpress.com. they are really helpful and seem to be one of the only people around that still sell hid kits. i think in cali, they banned the sale though., anyway, my best suggestion is don't go any higher than 6k kelvin. it may not be as blue, but looks way more legal.

cant really say too much about HIDs cuz i've only had one pair and i like it, the lower the temp the more white it is ... the higher the temp the more blue or purple it is
|
our size is 9007 right?
|
yup
|
talk to kareem, he did a full hid conversion on his oz so he might know a little more
|
yeah, i also read that he sold it, but yeah, im wondering what wattage and all that junk he used
|
even though i do not own a pair, i think 5000k-6000k would look the best and most likely to get in trouble.... and i would say get "HELLA"

I ordered mine from xenondepot and I love em, took about an hour to place and install everything but they are so awesome. I got the 4300k which appear white on the road but are bluish purple when you look at the light coming towards you. I am still trying to get some full size pictures up, but my avatar is a pic of my hids.

4300- 6000 kelvin max. is the best. trust me i've had all sorts even the 10,000k bulbs. put it this way, besides the stock hid's in my evo, i have a set of 8000k in my girlfriends accord (illegal), an extra set of 10,000k bulbs in my closet (violet), and a set of 4300k in my closet ( pretty white.

xenondepot.com
they use phllips ballasts and those are the best....wattage on HID's should be @ 35w...i currently have the Jdm converson on my car with 6500k HID's i love em, tho its not a power mod, its one of my favorites....my suggestions is to black out your lights first, they still look good if they are not blacked out...but you get a lot of glare....let me know if you have more ???'s |
8000k from www.xenondepot.com is what i have. they are great, really blue so be careful.
You'll love them. |
can anyone explain why the hidextreme kits are more expensive than the xenondepot kits @ xenondepot.com?
basically, the higher temp ones are cheaper, by 200 dollars. whats the deal? |
