Anyone purchased HID's from XenonDepot.com???

If this is the wrong place for this thread, then mods, please move it.

I bought these HID's about a week and a half (8000k), and this saturday i took on the task of installing them myself.

Everything went cool, I placed the ballast in a good spot, made all the necessary connections, plugged everything into where it needed to go, found good grounding points for the grounding wires, etc, etc.

So I'm hyped to turn the car on and see the HID's on my whip. I head over to the steering column and FOCK!!! the bulbs won't turn on {thumbdwn} .

I called up Drew (GBWAACHA) since he also installed his HID's into his lancer himself. Since both our systems are plug-n-play, he told me that his connection from the HID wiring to the stock headlight harness are two wires ( a black one and a white one) and that the white one should be on the right hand side and the black one should be on the left hand side, but mine are the opposite. So now I have all the wiring one the car done, but no HID's. I'm using stock bulbs again which bites..

Has anyone on here purchased and HID system from Xenondepot?? If so, have you had any similar problems? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !! {thumbup}

hey, i just finished installing my HID kit from xenondepot. Mine were plug in play but i had to custom wire it because my stock plugs were so damaged from aftermarket bulbs that i had to cut the wires. Its really simple to do.

On the Xenon plugs, its white and black. The black will be the center wire. match up the plugs to your stock one and see which side the white plug is supposed to connect to. THen just cut and connect the corressponding wires and you're good to go.

If you want to see what my plugs looked like, then go here :

I hear you bro, my plugs are so fried it's not even funny. The stock mitsu plugs suck with "performance" :lol: bulbs.

I'm made the mistake of the buying new plugs at autozone when I could've just made a wire to wire connection, that shyt never crossed my mind. I'm an idiot!! {pcfreak}

I was so frustrated with the damn kit that I completely removed it from my car...Now this saturday i'm going to install it, but this time i'll know what the hell I'm doing.

Another thing that I was asking myself was why the hell did this kit come with two grounding wires. So like the idiot that I am, i grounded both wires to the body of the car, not even realizing that one of them has to go to the battery. (I must've still been hung over from the night before). Since I didn't get any instructions with my kit, I emailed xenondepot to find out what the hell was going on. Steve over at xenondepot helped me out and cleared up the smoke for me. So now I'm gonna install this damn thing (FINALLY).

Thanks for the input bro, it's been helpfull. {thumbup} :thumbup:

whoa what are u talkina bout the ground wire lol... the kit comes with 2 grounding wires for the ballast- one for each side. You ground that to the body. Essentially you can ground it to the battery but its easier if u ground to the body of the car. The ground on the battery terminal gets grounded to the chasis anyways.

My kit didn't come with instructions either so i just did them without them. Let me know if you have fitment problems with the bulbs going into the headlight housing. I had problems with mine. I had to custom rig it to stay in the housing.

I thought my kit came with two grounding wires also, but when i contacted Xenondepot, they said i had some newer version that came with only one grounding cable and the other one (which has fuses) went to the battery.

To make a long story short, I installed my HID's and they are running perfectly!! I'm 100% Satisfied with them, and I didn't have to do any type of modding to the headlights, they fit right in. {thumbup}
