do u think it's better to bring the Evo here or 2 make an up grade engine for the oz?
do u think its better 2 bring the Evo here or to juss make an upgrade engine instead for the lancer oz rally racing edition? some one help me out.:mitsu:

well if your talking performance its pretty simple, but its also bout how much money ur looking to spend. if you looking at the sub 20-25k range you should work on your OZ, if its any number over that you might as well save up and import an Evo or wait till next year, if the domestic model gets released.
also consider all the designing, parts, shop/DIY time you gotta spend on your OZ just to match the 300hp range that the Evo is easily capable of with a couple bolt ons. the hassle of importing a LHD Evo would probably be less painful than havin to boost a OZ that much. my 2cents hope it helped |
and remember it not as simple as slapping a monsterous turbo, with that you gotta reprogram the ECU, re-enforce tranny, pistons, fuel distribution blah blah blah to count a few, not to mention durability issues... i dunno, i just dun think its rational trying to pour in all that money into the OZ to try to match Evo performance, and probably with all that money used to try to match them you'll be paying for two new Evos... you have to understand that in their distinctive natures, they dun stand in the same league (no offense to all the USDM lancer owners out there, but i know u'll understand my logic in this), well but good luck on whatever you should decide

Even if you get the HP on an OZ comparable you'll be lacking the brakes, suspension, AWD, and a host of other features the Evo has. Personally I'd say get the Evo. Unless you wanna havea nice long term project car on your hands...which would be pretty damn cool, but rather ineffective for performance compared to buying an Evolution. Then again...that's me. :D

but the real thing your only losing is the awd because you can allways change the brakes , but i heard when mitsubishi brings the Evo here its going 2 be weaker and its not going 2 have any active stuff like active yaw and other stuff like dat for the american version.:mitsu:

well there IS the option of modifiying the floorplate and putting in a AWD rear and fuel tank, as other threads have mentioned, and not having the AYC and ACD are just rumors till mitsu puts out an official press release, but i'm sure they're gonna have something good to compete with the WRX Sti if subaru is to bring it over too... man the scene's gonna be so sweet....
you know, SR619, i dun mean to discourage you in my other posts, i mean its gonna be way fun to have a project like that to work on, but make sure you have a second car to be ur daily driver |
I wasn't trying to say AWD and brakes weren't possible, but not on a budget that'd keep the cost under that of an evo. Seem a little more accurate now? :D
