Caliper Covers

I thought about painting my calipers, but I thought that these may be a better option...

has anyone every tried em?

Ralli_Artist Mar 30, 2009 04:05 PM

looks kinda cheap, and i'd hate to see one fall off..

charroncp Mar 30, 2009 04:08 PM

Ya that's what i was thinking. although i've painted my calipers before and it gets kinda crappy looking after a bit. If these actually stay stuck on very well, would there be any issues changing the breaks?

zscwc Mar 30, 2009 11:22 PM

I wouldn't recommend you getting those. I'd rather paint the calipers. They look sketchy.

wow are you serious... :o

Kurt Mar 31, 2009 06:05 AM

Please do not buy these. Just paint your calipers and call it a day.

charroncp Mar 31, 2009 10:01 AM

Ya i would probably never install these out of fear that they would come off and ruin my wheels. just wondering if anyone had in the past and had any experiences

BrandonShaw Mar 31, 2009 10:21 AM

Or the whole "i've got brembo's" when you really don't...

Paint is the way to go. :)

charroncp Mar 31, 2009 10:31 AM

Well you can buy ones that dont have Brembo plastered all over them. I did some research and some of them are kind of plain, although they don't look too good. I dont even really care about going all that flashy. Just looking for a way to keep the calipers from getting rusty and ugly

Just don't do it. The idea of these was brought up at a recent sales meeting at my work. Let me just give you some of the reasons not to do it that were brought up.

*Color fading and looking crappy anyway
*Flying off and damaging/hurting your wheels, car, other people's car, other people
*Limits wheel options (may hit wheels, whereas your calipers painted would not)
*They look tacky (matter of personal opinion)

Those were the main 4 that can be applied to your situation. I'd say powdercoat the calipers locally. Sure it costs a bit more and the car is down depending on how long it takes your coater to do them, but it will look better and IMO be better in the long run.

This, poser Brembos make Raptor Jesus cry. Paint the calipers a nice color (ie. not neon green) and you'll have a nice car.

rcheung Apr 9, 2009 11:47 AM

Please don't get those frembos.

Green_Bandit Apr 9, 2009 02:17 PM

Those are suspect! Don't do it!

lancer0220 Apr 10, 2009 01:55 PM

just ordered a set.

haha JK

honestly just paint the calipers, cost no more than 15.00 its easy, gives you something to do and adds a nice touch

agree with everyone, those are whack! Paint is the way to go, just make sure it's tasteful {thumbup}
