Fuel Pump Location
Hi ,
I have a 2003 Lancer and can't find the fuel pump. Already took to covers off under the back seat and saw nothing. I think I have the 1.8 L engine. Mode number is CS3ASRJL. Car has been sitting for a while and it just cranks and won't start. Disconnected the fuel filter to see if fuel would come out and it didn't. Went to check the due filter again and it had few. I am lost. Thanks |

HiI removed the rear seat chosen and all I saw was the float for the amount of fuel in the tank indicator and another mechanisms that wasn't the pump. So I am guessing I have to drop the tank to acces the pump. Besides the pump, what can cause the car not to start. Car cranks but if I disconnect the fuel filter no fuel comes out . What else could be an issue besides the pump? Car has sat for about a year or so. |

Your Lancer assy should look similar to the EvO's (i think). This assy below houses the fuel pump (where the arrow is). Cant really help w/the diagnosis but just want you to know, your pump is likely in the "mechanism" as you called it
https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...b81d8a252f.jpg Hi,No my pump assembly in my lancer looks nothing like that. I had an Evo 3 before and I changed the pump which was located under the back seat but in my Lancer it is nothing like that above. One of the panels has the float that show gas level and the other is some sort of strainer looking thing. There is no electrical connections going to it. I am lost for words |
Then drop the tank
