Is there a 02-03 style trunk out for the 04 Lancer's?
 

Does anyone know if there is an 02-03 style trunk out for the 04 Lancers?

I just like the older style trunks much better.

i dont think they could make something like that.. the original trunks are more angular while the new ones are rounder.. am i correct on this??

they're the same shape on the top and around the tail lights. but when you get to the bottom where the trunk touches the back bumper, the 04's dip lower and is rounded and the 02-03's are a straight cut. so for a rear end swap you'd need: trunk, tail lights, and rear bumper.

nope, but planning on it once a nice rear bumper comes out for the RA.

but isnt the cosmetics of the 04's totally different?...woulf the RB even work?

judging by eye (i was sitting behind mike's RA most of last meet) that's why you'd need the tail lights and trunk along with the rear bumper. they all come together. i doubt mitsu changed the whole frame and all the lines seem to be in the same place. these 3 pieces aren't part of the frame so can be redesigned for the new model while still keeping the same frame. they also seem to bolt to the same places in the service manual.

well the tail-lights are diff so i don't think that would work too well

what i'm saying is that you need the 04 tail lights, the 04 rear bumper, and 04 trunk. if you have those 3, why wouldn't they go on an 02-03 lancer?

You'd probably need different rear quarter panels also since those go around the taillights and the tails aren't the same shape from 02 to the 04's....which I'm guessing that those ( the rear quarter panels ) won't fit without MAJOR modification

Well I kinda figured the 02-03 trunks wouldn't fit. I just thought maybe there might be an aftermarket trunk out by now. I like the clean look better. {thumbup}
