i have underbody neons with the power wire plugged into an empty space in my fuse box without fuse. I simply stuck the wire directly into the hole, didnt wrap it around a spare fuse. It works without incident and I never got smoke....maybe try it again without the fuse.

do you have to use both the sockets for it to work on the fuse. and how did you get the wire to fit exactly into the fuse cause im having trouble trying to get it in there. or should i take down the whole fuse box and then try and wedge it in there.

Use the special add-a-fuse thing. It has the terminals you use to connect the wires to on top of the fuse, then you plug it in.

Something isnt right with your wiring. Under dash neons should NOT be drawing 20 amps....maybe 6-7 max for all 4 depending on size, etc.

Check your wiring then do the add a fuse thing or run a wire off your battery, add in your own fuse and a switch. Very easy.
