Hey, im a newb at all this upgrading car stuff. As u guys already know, 2008 lancer is only 152hp. I was just wondering if it is true that a new/better performance intake for the 2008 lancer could increase its horsepower by about 20-30. Is this true? If so, what brand or specific intake would do this. My friend told me that the other day, and i just wana know its true or not. Thanks guys lmk.

 

^no an intake won't add that much. but it will help.

and as far as i know there are no intakes available for the 08 yet. But Road Race Motorsports are in the process of making one.
although i'm sure with a filter and MAF adapter you could figure out how to make a custom one

 

Yeah, there's no after market parts for the 08 Lancers yet.

Also intakes will probably add like 5~8 HP, and better throttle response. Not 20-30. @_@

 

I guarantee that there is an intake on the market right now that will fit inside your engine and attach properly. However, when you search for it it won't say that it fits the 2008 Lancer DE, it will be for an Integra or something because nobody knows that it will fit.

The highest gain I have seen come out of an aftermarket Intake was 11hp.

 

I am waiting till I know one that will fit an 08 to come out...

 

Good idea Iwas talking to ROCK at RRM and he said that the (can bus) ECU it a bytch and that the wrong intake might set off the CEL. Anyways RRM has there New intake coming out very soon he said that the CNC machined parts are in and they will be out on the market very soon RRM

damn if an aftermarket intake was pushin out that much hrs to ur car, id buy it haha. but i thought RRM already had an aftermarket intake made for the lancer's?

They do, look at the date of the previous posts, their dated back to the beginning of May.

 

ahh ok, yea i wasnt lookin at that. but just makin sure bc im lookin to buy the same intake.

 

Yea me too when I get the car at the end of summer/early fall. Providing I can find a dealer that wont void the warranty with RRM products.
