Question CherryBomb Muffler on Exhaust.. doable?

Yeah yeah, cherry bombs are for muscle cars but ya know what, i want me a deep purr

So i was wondering, how doable is this?

http://www.supremeperformance.com/Di...ab.aspx?tid=12

Apparently they come in many many sizes and fittings so if i could put this on my GTS, which one would i need? and what other pieces would i need for it? when i saw the price of it as $40 basically, i almost messed myself... if i could have a sexy exhaust like my parents did to our camaro on my lancer for $40 and alittle elbow grease... count me in!

So what do you all think? possible? impossible?

I was just looking more and it seems like they have alot of round chrome tipped mufflers too in the Volt section hrmmm, im guessing the only thing these are missing is a pipe to connect them to the exhaust?

You're not going to get a "deep pur" out of a cherry bomb on a 4 cylinder lancer. The camaro is deep because it is twice as big of an engine...

Seriously, I wouldn't go there. There is a reason they are $40. The are useless (and illegal I believe due to emissions, they are here in Canada anyways)...

My Camaro has a deep purr without a CherryBomb. The muffler isn't what makes the sound. It's the 5.3 liters of displacement.

You're better off getting something you like that accentuates the natural Lancer sound. Not trying to replicate a VERY different car.

true true, im just looking for a cheaper alternative for now that doesnt require much changing of my vehicle... though im sure im gonna drop $500 on a Greddy when they finally make it.

How exactly would you go about replacing it though? although its just a muffler you still need a pipe to connect it to and to bolt on to the existing exhaust right? which means more money right there... Plus other than the Cherrybomb glasspacks they also have cylinder mufflers for tuners so i was looking at those too.

Basically i want this to be a post to be a question as to "How To Add Your Own Choice of Muffler" If anyone could provide the info to that for our car.

To be honest unless you want to be able to unbolt it at will you can just take it to a muffler shop and they'll weld on whatever you want. That's what I did. They took off the old one, removed on of the silencers, bent some pipe and welded on the new one for $65. Otherwise you have to get a flange fabricated and pipe welded to it so you could technically have a axleback bolt on like RRM's

Remove stock muffler.
Weld hangers onto aftermarket muffler so it hangs correctly.
Get/bend correct piping to make muffler meet stock exhaust.
Weld as needed.

Not sure what more their is to say. You're basically saying you want a "How To" for custom work. The nature of custom work is that you do it however you want/need to.
