Does anyone know the size of the battery in the 08 Lancer GTS? I am looking at getting an Optima yellowtop, but im not sure which model/size to get exactly.\
Thanks
Thanks
i guess you are changing it just for looks? Measure the battery or get the mitsu # and use it as a cross reference at an autoparts store. if not measure it and match it up with another, as long as the CCA is the same or close...more CCA's won't hurt either, just don't go too low.

Why so soon you ask? Because it doesnt take long to put a high powered system in your car
And its not just for looks, CamShaft, its for functionality, or else I wouldn't waste my money.
Also, when I look at the battery, the only thing I can find resembling a model or whatever is 75D23L. So I don't know what to match that too.

Speaking of systems...I did manage to use my factory battery throughout the entire ownership of my lancer with the 1300+ watt rms setup I had. Just something to think about.

lol sweet well I'm pushing over 1500 watts RMS and my lights are dimming very noticeably, plus I have some underdash lights hooked up, not a whole lot of amps needed, but its just a little extra strain. I also want to get my alternator rebuilt, but it would cost about 150 bucks.

just a note....
Watts are not measured in RMS, only Vols or Amps can be measered in RMS.
And what are you running 1500 watts????
Thats a crazy amount of energy. If you need that much juice, you should consider doing a dual battery setup. One only for engine support, and a second for auxilary equipment.
Enjoy

yes, dual battery or a bigger output alternator. a new battery won't fix your dimming lights.
Also a bigger heavy duty battery will cost you 100-150$, just get a bigger alternator or another battery in the trunk.

lol well a dual battery setup will put a much bigger strain on the alternator then a single, bigger battery. Also, the optima battery has more amps and will provide more power than a regular battery is still using the stock alt. and i know a new batt would cost around 200 dollars....trust me, ive done research and I know what im doing...i just dont know what size batt to get!!

after doin a google search (first hit) on that number you gave, here are the stats on the battery model.
75D23L MF
20hr: 65Ah, CCA: 520, 231*172*202, Weight: 17
Measurements look like they are in metric, so 9.09*6.77*7.95 inches, and weight is ~35lbs. I believe it would be a 1300Ah rating on the battery. I'm in class right now so I can't pop my hood and check.

75D23L is mitsu's part number and its 520 cca with 118 minutes of reserve capacity.
You better be able to figure it out now cause it took me 5 mins to look it up in the factory service manual. You are welcome
