I need to replace the exhaust clamp that is rusted out that is on the flex pipe and the catalytic converter. I took a quick measure with a tape measure and reads 2-3/4", is this the correct size for the clamp ? I don't want to buy several sizes to try when the car is jacked up. Sucks the FSM doesn't given any info on pipe diameters.

The OEM clamp is a wrap around type clamp with a bolt on one side. I can't find them locally since most are U bolt clamp that is available.


The clamp goes on like the flex pipe pictured connecting the cat. The flange on the flex pipe covering the end of the braid is rusted out as well, otherwise it is still good.

 

Alright, for the record the clamp size is 2". I got several sizes before I jacked up the car so I didn't need to run back and forth to buy the clamps.

The pipe from engine manifold goes INTO the flex pipe(clamps onto the flex pipe) and the flex pipe on the other end goes INTO the pipe with the heat shield(clamps onto the connecting pipe) that connects to the catalytic converter.
