i got some questions about mod'n my car.

now i was talkin to some of my buddies n askin them about if gold rims would like right wiht my car. not like shiny gold but the kinda gold on the WRX STI. n they were sayin id look pretty good, but then i got some other ppl sayin id look retarded. ontop of that, i wanted to smoke out my tail lights, but i dont think thatd look right, especially bc i wanna get underbody lights, so id b a mess of different colors. just wonderin what would look ok. 2ndly i was wonderin what kinda spoiler you guys would look good being on this kinda lancer. :helpme:

Why would our opinions help YOU shop?

Get a stock wing - they're cool.
Just smoke them.
I don't know about the rims since I don't know what color your car is...

L.Lancer1 Jun 9, 2007 07:57 AM

i got the electric blue. n bc i cant really make up my mind bout certain mods

Well gold wheels look pretty nice on white lancers, so if your lancer is white u have my 1+. About the spoiler I don't know which one would look good on the lancer, IMO I was thinking about an evo one but I need to photoshop it first.

i dunno, i think they'd look ok on a blue but not totally sure. u think u could photo shop me a picture of a blue lancer with some gold rims? i cant find any pictures of how it would look n i really dont wanna throw down the money if its not gunna look nice

My only concern is that gold & blue is a Subaru tradition. Might look kinda goofy if you have that in your head. But the colors work well together (which is WHY it's a tradition...)

L.Lancer1 Jun 9, 2007 10:19 AM

yea that was a concern to me, its more of subaru thing n im runnin a mitsu, so i might go with some gunmetal black (evo style) bc silver wouldnt look good on that color of a car. at the same time i was lookin to buy some underbody lights that would look good wiht it all. dont want a damn multicolored car hah

I always liked white rims (and underglow), but that's kind of a "personal choice" thing.

true true, im debadgin my car this weekend, n paintin the MIVEC peice of plastic, like i wanna either smoke out my taillights or wait for some to be developed. (if any of you kno) is it illegal to smoke out ur taillights. and (if not) how dark can they be? i dunno im tryin to keep it look simple but still really nice

Blacksheepdj Jun 11, 2007 07:08 AM

Check your local/state laws. It's different in different places.

L.Lancer1 Jun 11, 2007 09:36 PM

i will. so since im not gunna b gettin my exhaust for sometime i bought a pretty nice tip for it. no big diff in the car but looks better then the stock exhaust.

i got a question bout droppin in a gsx turbo. under the hood of the lancer, it seems liek there is alot of room, now would it b possible for my drop in a gsx turbo, i kno i would have to upgrade the computer, but im just wondering if its actually possible or just wait? keeping in mind that im buyin the RRM intake soon.

Yeah there's enough room at the manifold to install a turbo, but unless you've got a good amount of fabrication and plumbing experience I'd recommend not trying to install a turbo yourself without a pre-designed kit.

We don't know how the engine/ECU will respond to a turbo. at 10.0:1 compression, I'd honestly be wary of running a turbo with little more than minimal boost until we are sure that the internals are going to withstand more pressure and stress. I mean if I was killing heads (and rods) running 7 psi boost (supercharger) on a 9.5:1 ratio all cast iron V6, I kinda shudder to think of what a few psi would do to an aluminum engine.

When it comes to the forced induction on this new engine, I think patience is the key.

my job is a master plumber lol but i need a good steel pipe bender. but i lay the best pipe around.

anyone want copper instead of steel tubing? i think copper is more of a heat sink so its too hot.
