GTS's Hard to find??

I was at my dealership talking to them and it seems like the stock of GTS's in the southeast is really low is it like this in your areas as well??

Would be kind of cool if we had a limited production model year :D

Well it kinda is. Mitsu expected the mass of sales to be DE and ES models; they didn't think that the GTS was going to be the numbers unit.

But it is. People are picking them up left and right, leaving the DE and ES models sitting on the lot. GTS models are going to get continually harder and harder to find until Mitsu picks up production on the '09 MY units. And even then, it's hard to say if they'll really up the production of GTS models a whole bunch.

That's great that means there wont be an overload of GTS's on the road

No, they didn't make as many GTS as the other two models, so you won't see a lot of GTS on the road for the near future. And I was told that Mitsu has been hysterically trying to shift around supply/part orders from suppliers and shifting production quotas around as well as up outpout across all three lines... and they are ramping up for a fourth model for 09 as well (GTS-T is what I have heard... turbo 2.0 GTS with more options).

Limited production year?

Most car companies aren't even selling their 2008 models yet. It's going to be another 15 months before we can even look back and ascertain the 2008 sales figures...

Here in central NJ at my local dealerships there is always 3-4 new GTSs every time I go, I am pretty close with the manager there and he told me that in May he has sold 22 GTS, 3 ES, and 1 (!) DE model, they were constantly on the phone with Mitsubishi to bring in more GTS models but obviously Mitsubishi can't just change it's game plan over night, so for now the delaership came out with the bright idea of installing rear spoliers and the GTS body kits on regular DE and ES models, problem with it is that once installed the price is about the same as the GTS, but GTS also offers bigger breakes, sports tuned suspension, automatic climate control, etc etc, so I dont know if people are gonna fall for it, but if there won't be any GTSs on the lot but a bunch of tweaked DE, ES models then maybe people will start to buy those.

Mitsubishi and my local dealership predicted that ES is going to be the bread and butter of the crop with about 60-65% of all sales but currently they couldn't be more wrong. The problem with Lancer pricing is that the difference between ES and GTS is about $1500, most people buy it on loan (or simply lease it) and once the amount is divided by 48-60 months, the difference in payments between ES and GTS is about $25-35.

Come to Florida. They keep bringin in GTS's here. BlackSheep is right, tho. 2008 models are not even suppose to be out. I am sure everyone who bought the new Lancer were shocked to pick up an 08 Lancer as early as late March. Much less see one on the lot. But over here, in Orlando, they are trying to keep up with the demand. GTS's are hot over all over the nation, but if you really need one right away, see if they can do a drop ship to your city from here. They do that alot.
There is going to be a Lancer fever, just like the way the Civic's impact on the car market.

Ya last time I checked, the dealership in Daytona Beach had only 2-3 GTS, and boatloads of ES and DS even with navigation, but dont seem to be moving like the GTS. I think they should just drop the DS or at least give it AC standard for the same price???
