HID's At A Great Price

Hey, I wasn't 100% sure where this topic could go but I figured it would be a "TIP" so I posted it here.

As most of you know the solution to bypass the DRL in our vehicle ranges from splicing into the foglights/side markers to completely rewiring the lighting system.

MobileHID.com offers a relay harness which enables us to splice into the sidemarker for an easy option. I like the test they ran on their ballasts and are not bad on pricing. However if you are looking for great HIDs at an unbelievable price check out this website I found.

A friend of mine directed me to www.aandrmotorsport.com {thumbup}

They mostly deal in motorcycle accessories but they have HID kits for automobiles. They have a wide color assortment and their kit comes with a relay harness very similar to MobileHID's. They guys were really quick on answering my e-mail and any questions I had. My total for 8k HIDs came out to $150 with free shipping. I received the product in 3 days TX to FL. It installed easy and looks very good. I'm going to take some pictures at night and post them here as soon as I figure out how. Anyhow, I thought I'll let everyone know of my find...

Actually I managed to get my kit from MobileHID.come even cheaper than that site lol $120 shipped for a 9006 5000K kit. Plus they carry a 3000K kit which I'm going to try out for my foglights in a few months.

So does the kit eliminate the DRL's or how exactly does it work?

Yes it does, it comes with a harness that will take care of all the work.

You simply unplug your headlight wires.

Replace the bulbs with the HID bulbs.

Connect the harness provided to your battery.

Connect the other end of the harness to the ballasts.

Connect the ballasts to the HID bulb.

Connect the remaining 2 wires on the harness to the positve and negative wire of your sidemarkers. You'll need a few of the EZ Connect splicers to hook up the harness (you can get it at autozone for $2) and with them you don't have to cut any wires at all.

Now you have no DRL, when you turn your headlight switch 1 time to get the sidemarkers the HID will also come on. Yes, you lose the sidemarker only option BUT since stock you have DRL it's a hassle to get the sidemarker to work without the DRL either way.

The whole install took about 30-40 minutes, hardest part was finding a place to mount the ballasts.

Well it was $140 at the time, but I managed to get a $20 off due to late shipping. Now the regular price has been bumped upto $170, but thats only for forum members. As you said, the standard price is $250. And yes all prices included shipping.

Ballast mounting wasnt so bad, I had them mounted via a plate which I bolted to the sides of the engine bay. Along each side about half way along.

Thanks a lot for the info. I actually bought an HID kit without a harness. I'm thinking about buying this harness instead of having it done to hook up the HID's. I have never delt with the electrical part of the vehicle and I have no idea where the positive and negative wire of the sidemarkers are. Also where do I uplug the head light wires. Sorry for all the quetions and thanks for your help. If someone could post pics that would be great.

And one more thing. I suppose that The remote turn on plug in this picture has to be removed and these are the 2 wires that are suppose to be spliced into the sidemarkers? Is that correct? Oh and my sidemarkers actually go on everytime I open my car or close it with the remote. How could I splice the wires into the parking lights?
