Problem solved. I replaced the JL e1800d with an Arc Audio 1000.2T and WOW! My sub hits harder and is louder. Before I installed the Arc amp, I called and spoke to Arc Audio's tech. dept . He suggested running the amp at 1 ohm to the single Arc Audio Flatline D4. All is good now. No more cutting out.
