matte finish.. it is when you paint job kinda looks like a chalkboard. I've seen it on a few cars at HIN. I am not a fan of it in my opinion. I'm not even sure how they do it.

I saw a car they had on TV.. it was at the Japan Auto Salon, it has an actual chalkboard finish. You could draw your own graphics on it with chalk, then erase it. lol. That would be cool.

If all you want is a flat color... DIY! You can use a simple Flat enamel paint. SPC Magazine did and STi back in October 2004 I believe. They used Krylon rattle can spray paint and I believe it only cost around 100-200 bucks in paint and supplies. Paints like that are just as strong as a 2 or 3 stage coat automotive paint as far as surface durability goes and it is extremely easy to touch up. Macco is worthless and you'd do a better job yourself. I say, get a couple of buddies together on a Saturday morning, about 20-30 cans of spray paint and go for it! The worst that could happen is that if you hate, you'd end up paying someone to paint it later. The good thing is you save some $$ by doing it your self in the first place and also you would have learned a few things.

^^ u gotta wash the car really clean, then do the spray painting inside a garage or something so no dust will get on the surface when u paint.

The car not only needs to be cleaned... but wet sanded. It would need to be done just like a a normal auto paint job.... But this is not a how to, there is already a thread on that to be searched for.
