i believe that the back two and the rear can be tinted any way u want it. but the front two there is a limit to how dark u can go. thats why when u see vans and suvs u always notice how the front two are always lighter then the back ones.

there was a thread with all the tinting regulations from each state.

In Arizona, I've been told, they can even tint the windshield.

You can't tint your windshield or front windows at all in michigan. LISTEN BRO. Pay the ticket, don't fight it, and when you see a cop roll down your front windows and turn off your radio and you'll never get a ticket. They can't make you roll your windows up when they pull you over.

You ain't no D-town fool.

When I lived in Mich, one of my roommates was forced by a cop at roadside to remove the tint with his keys.

they cop has to prove that its illegal tint, if they cant prove it then you can fight it in court, they will give you a small decal that states you windows are leagally tinted!

In Indiana they changed the law so that the cop can write you a ticket and you have to prove it to the judge that the tint is legal what happened to inoccent til proven guilty
they used to cary testers in the squads to check the tint level guess it got expensive

I think it's stupid to tint your windows like that. You really need that much tinting, Puff Daddy?

And when you tint your rear so I can't see through it to whatever's happening ahead of you, it's a problem for me as well as Mr. Police Ossifer. Just a thought.

eh...I agree with Rasputin to a point. But is it really that big of an issue that you can't see through his car? You do occasionaly have to deal with Semi's, Cattle Trucks, Loaded work trucks that you can't see through.

But on the whole, if you have problems driving at night or in rain, reduce the tint.

Law in cali is u can tint ur winshield only 6" from the top (Called an eyebrow). u can tint ur front 2 windows up to 35% I believe, and the back 3 windows are unlimited (u can even black em out if u want).

I have 5% Limo tint on my front 2 windows, Medium tint on my WHOLE winshield, and Double 5% Limo on my back 3 windows. I have yet to be pulled over. Then again, i drive with all my windows down.

the california is much more string than that

Front Side Windows -- A clear, colorless, transparent film may be applied to the front side windows provided it meets the following requirements:
1. The film must have a minimum visible light transmittance (VLT) of 88 percent;
2. The window glazing with the material applied, must meet the requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, including the specified minimum light transmittance of 70 percent and applicable abrasion resistance;
3. The material must be designed and manufactured to enhance the ability of the existing window glass to block the sun's harmful ultraviolet rays;
4. The driver has in his or her possession, or within the vehicle, a certificate signed by the installing company certifying that the windows with the film installed meet the requirements of this section and identifies the installing company and the film manufacturer by full name and street address.

Rear Side Windows -- Exempt - VLT not restricted

Rear Glass -- Exempt - VLT not restricted provided the vehicle is equipped with the right and left rearview mirrors.

Since Our windows are not factory glazed we can only have 88% tint thus allowing 12% of light blockage where limo is typically in the 8% range blocking 92% of visible light.
