Get rid of the Stripes, keep the grill, wing... BURN it!!!!!, the spiderweb stuff, has to go!!!!....
Then the fun begins... this is what "I" would do:

RRM front lip (the sex), OZ sideskirts and rear lip, some nice wheels(15 or 16 max, gunmetal or Black...no chrome lip please lol), lower that sucker!(about 2'') , Stock OZ spoiler, shorty antenna.. o yeah, the mesh on the grill, paint it black. Window tint!!!!, black out the headlights and thatd be about it.

After all then, then think about rims, taillights, etc.
One thing about peeling off the vinyls man.... depending on how long they have been on, it may be a royal b!tch.... (Don't mind me here, I work with Vinyl for a living, and have seen the worst of it) Reason it may be a b!tch: If it has seen multiple summers, then it will come off in peices. Even using a heat gun / hair dryer to heat up the adheisive, after a season or two, the vinyls become brittle and come off in peices. THe adheisive itself may release from the vinyls, staying with the car, goo gone usually works on signs to get the residue off, but is known to strip clear coating off painted surfaces, and knowing how cheap/poor our clear coat is, might not be worth the risk. and probably the worst piece of news of all, depending on how long the 'graphics' have been on, you may still notice them once they are off. The red may not be so bad for it, seeing as it is a bright color, but I know first hand that on a black car, sun fade occurs the first season HARDCORE. If those 'graphics' were on my car for a year, and I took them off, I would notice a distinct line where they were, due to the paint being fresher underneath them, the elements haven't had their opportunity to fade the paint at all. Thus my comment at the end, Hope the paint comes quick. I mean, it may not be too bad with the sun fade, but I have seen the worst of vinyls, and I just pray that you got this car just after the 'vandalism' Err... I mean 'graphics'. But your best bet is to heat up the vinyls as you take them off. Go line by line, heat up a section, and pull. Don't melt the vinyls, but take your time, and most of the adheisive should stay with the vinyl itself. Best of luck to you man, congratulations on your purchase. And welcome to the world of a Lancer owner. Keep us updated witht he progress, and if you ever want graphics, PM me, and I'll come up with a tasteful solution. As long as you don't want the rice, I can help make it look good. As a designer, if anyone were ever to come to me with that idea, I'd slap them, and tell them no. I firmly beleive that having vinyls, if they are done right, does not make you a ricer. It has to be done tastefully tho. And if ANY EvoM'er wants something designed up, I'll make sure it can be cut up for them, and all they have to do is take the file I make them to a vinyl shop.

Thanks for the tips and suggestions, guys! This will be really helpful to me in the next couple of months... I'd been so focused on the webs and wing I hadn't even noticed how ugly the chrome is, for example.

I think the vinyl has been there a while and it does seem kinda brittle. There was a spot peeling on the passenger side, and it snapped right off when I pulled at it (no heat, tho). That'll be a fun task. Good thing my wife owns a professional quality blow-dryer.

I'll keep the pictures on my website up to date as I go. Maybe in a few months I'll have a car I can be proud of

then the best thing to do, is take your time.... and once the graffiti/graphics are off, give it a once over with your hand, and look at it from different viewpoints to make sure that all the adheisive is gone. Hope the sun fade doesn't affect it too much. But hope it all goes well for you. If I lived there, I'd be more help... that's for sure. But once again, just take your time, and make sure that the vinyls are warm and pliable... it should be easy, as long as you have the patience.... that is a LOT of blue man.... best of luck.

I wouldn't of bought that damn car. I can only imagine how bad that pre owner beat on it thinking it was a bad *** car with spiderwebs all over it. I would of spent the extra money and not have to worry about getting the car back to stock looking. But yeah congrats at least you now own a Lancer.

Wing on a FWD car, chrome lining all around the car, and kick *** spider-webs? I bet whom ever owned that car before you was getting women left and right, and "mad respect".

I was discussing this with the wifey and we decided that the best thing to do would be to leave it be because the cops would never ever pull over Spiderman.

I wish that was the case. Got a speeding ticket yesterday, first one in almost three years. Pretty sure the trooper was actually clocking the yellow Honda behind me, because no way was I doing 86. The Honda was speeding up behind me and actually pulled over on the left shoulder when the lights went on.

Getting radar/laser detector just went to the top of my to-do list. I never had these problems in the mini-van!

The wing went in the trash last night, but I don't have what I need to patch the holes so the brackets are still there. Chrome peeled right off. Tonight I'm going to take a shot at peeling off some vinyl if the sun works with me.
