mmm right side drive! haha.

but yae color matching the interior with the exterior is always a good way to go,
there have been white lancers who painted their interior like surbaru blue which turned out nicley if you want to go with a blue/white color scheme on your car.
its really just up to what you like & want it to look like.

as for painting it, removing it all is fairly simple, some screws & just pops right off.
the peices around the radio and A/C are just textured plastics, if you sand them down like you would the flat peices it will just make it a little smoother & the paint will stick easily.
after you paint those peices you will still see the texture so it will look like it was originally painted that color.
if ya need any more advice just ask!

Nice work WarTown, looks good. You have me thinking about doing that to my interior now. Good How-To.

mwahaha yeah, i love my cell phone holder but i don't use it since i switched to a pda. so it's just a decoration now lol. Anyway, thanks WarTownOz, I'll be paiting my interior next week, i'll be buying stuff this week. I will let you know the progress, your tutorial is inspiring lol.

I think I will go with white, but what kind of white though? just plain white? or maybe... metalic white? Anyway, can i use any spray paint types? or does it have to be some particular type and brand?

mds - my old interior was just a flat white, it looked ok, i think a more metallic or gloss white would look better tho. make sure you clear coat it a few times too.
you can use any kind you want really, i just went to advanced autoparts and bought the cheap primer they had, then bought the Duplicolor auto spray paint, they color match pretty good with our cars.

ohfourlancer - the B pillars (ones in the middle) come out fairly simply, just remove the door sills, then the plastic under the B pillar will pull right off so you can get to the actual B pillar.
as for the C pillars, i havent taken them out before, but i would figure you would lay down the back seats, then start with removing the plastic backing behind the seats, and go from there up until you get to the pillar.
not sure on this, i would go do it and take pics but im leaving this morning to go down to FL.

hope this helps! peace.

Not sure if Australia will have duplicolor, but I will check it out. By the way what does a clear coat do? does it make it more glossy?

mds - yae thats true, forgot about you being down under, hehe.
the clear coat does make it slightly more glossy, but it will help prevent the paint from being chipped if you hit it with something, & also keep it from ever cracking from the sun & what not, its just a good idea to have a few coats on there.

MyEvoDream - thanks man.

MDS, if it were my car, I would just paint the shifter console and the upper dash trim (the parts that are already smoothed and painted from the factory). The rough texture on the HVAC/Radio trim doesn't look all that great just painted over and would make it hard to sand the whole surface. The only thing I would recommend with that is to actually sand all of the texture off and then use a nice primer/surfacer to smooth it back out completely. As far as color, you can find a nice pearl white that would match the car fairly well and would probably be the best choice in your situation. Just look around a bit and you should be able to find something nice. If not, got to a paint store and they can actually mix up the paint that is on your car in a spray can.
