soap and warm water + some elbow grease?

I wouldn't use gas personally, as it COULD get on the paint and that could have a negative effect. However, gas is a good solvent IMO and would probably get the crap off.

use SS cleaner, you can buy it at home depot. its usually in the appliance department and i cant remember the exact price for it but i think its under 10 dollars. or you could also use metal polish at a auto parts store like autozone..... or if your too cheap to buy a cleaner, do what digdat said! soap and warm water

I would stay away from the gas idea... go and grab one of the cleaners dv8 evo was talking about and you should be good to go...

just get your exhaust warm, (by driving) and then get a paper towel w/ cold/cool water and should clean it up.

i don't mean to hijack thread, more like a contribution. The exhaust water that leaks out has caused it to run down on the bottom tip of the exhaust. It looks all burned and cruddy, but not rust. It's like the size of half a coin Quarter. Anyone know how to take that off?
