Fibercation Dash Kit!!!

hey guys, just got my dash pieces in from fibercation from this GB thread.

haven't installed them yet into my car, but i will tomorrow and i will update pics then. for now:

overall impression is that the quality is top notch. unfortunately, i take bad photos (the finish is so shiny, it reflects and makes bad pics), but the finish on the carbon fiber is awesome and the pieces (for the most part) are moulded to the stock trim pieces perfectly. the only "oh crap" i can see is in the last picture: the hvac piece is pretty hard to do with compound curves, but still the damage isn't too bad (a little crackage)

also, the package could be alot better, it looks like they hired a retarded monkey with a tape gun stapled to his hand to package it (no offense to the fella that did package it :D)

overall, very impressed and i'm sure they will look even better once i put them in my car. definately worth the money and 10x better than those cheap ebay stickers

02izzel Feb 12, 2005 06:32 PM

hey! not bad at all.

fishman042002 Feb 12, 2005 07:17 PM

hey those look really nice. be sure to post pics when you get them installed

imapunkclaimer Feb 12, 2005 07:31 PM

looks awesome!! I cant wait to get mine

GreenPsycho Feb 12, 2005 07:43 PM

well, you might be waiting indefinately........... i slipped fibercation a $20 and told them not to do any others besides mine so i can be unique and special.

muwahahahaha!{devil}

i'll get pics up first thing tomorrow. somehow i lost a total of 6 of those stupid white clip things. ah well

StreetSleeper8 Feb 13, 2005 12:50 AM

how much did you pay for all of that?

TeAmEmPeRoR Feb 13, 2005 01:18 AM

Damn, that ish looks PIMP!!!!!

Crap, maybe I should just get all the pieces in carbon fiber. I was only planning on doing the clock strip and center console of the shifter, but the HVAC piece looks the best out of all of them.

Nice GreenPsycho, can't wait to see pics of them installed.

Sir Lancelot Feb 13, 2005 04:19 AM

Looks good. Ive got a little project going out to them in a few weeks...

it was $220 for all of that so far, which, IMHO, is a great price considering the work they had to put into it inlaying the cf onto the pieces themselves.

thanks for the compliments guys. in the future, i'm thinking of getting my abc pillars done by them

OZLancerlunatic Feb 13, 2005 08:57 AM

installation went pretty smooth, except for the hvac trim. i had to shave it down with my dremel, but after i went over the piece carefully, it fit perfectly.

FlLancer Feb 13, 2005 12:10 PM

Too bad i already bought a dash kit months ago.. otherwise i'd get this. It looks good.

pumpdog720 Feb 13, 2005 12:22 PM

How does the piece with the shifter come off?

GreenPsycho Feb 13, 2005 12:44 PM

its actually just attached via clips to the main shifter assembly. i didn't discover this until i took the whole thing apart, and realized it is 2 separate pieces

Centrylancer Feb 13, 2005 12:55 PM

god that looks good!

Kelmar Feb 13, 2005 01:06 PM

GreenPsycho Feb 14, 2005 06:02 AM

i was thinking: if people want 99% of the look but cut down on price a little bit, then they should:

get the center vent strip w/ mirror control done in cf

get the shifter trim done in cf

instead of a cf hvac trim, pick up the evo'ish aluminum looking one.

the way i have it right now is 2 pieces of cf are butting against each other, and they need to be offset because the cf is accent, not the main material. but if you got the aluminum hvac trim, not only would it accent the cf and stock black, but it would also draw focus to the hvac/radio and doesn't this make sense?

i mean, it is dead center in the car, also, it should be the center of attention cause its where the radio is and the climate control. just a thought, but i think that would look awesome

i'll see if i can find a pic to photochop

the X Feb 14, 2005 09:43 AM

mannnnn i need to get a evo just so i can do carbon fiber products for my own car..lmao

looking pimpish green:)

blacklancerr Feb 14, 2005 10:26 AM

lookin good!

that's exactly how I want to do my interior pieces. I didn't want the HVAC trim to be done in CF, but I'm starting to notice like lil scractches on it. So I'm like dammit, I might as well get it done. (I dunno where the scractches came from, but it pisses me off when I look at it  )

CyPhoth Feb 14, 2005 05:08 PM

The install looks very good. Something different.

BLKRalliArt04 Feb 17, 2005 02:33 PM

That is simply the hottest interior I have seen in a long time in a Lancer. 220 is an excellent deal. I am so jealous now it isnt even funny. They also have pillar pods on ebay FYI. Congrats

SlowRyd Feb 17, 2005 05:43 PM

your dash is amazing. how long did it take them to get the parts back to you?

GreenPsycho Feb 17, 2005 09:02 PM

thanks for the compliments. it only took, oh, maybe 1.5-2 weeks to get the parts back. pretty quick for the amount they had to do

pillars coming soon ;)

Blacksheepdj Feb 18, 2005 10:59 AM

Dude - go buy the Evo HVAC and sell me the CF one!

Seriously, though - it looks outstanding. Congrats to Fibercation!

PS - I was going to send in my ashtray lid to get done, but I couldn't get it off the tray. Any secrets?

GreenPsycho Feb 18, 2005 11:04 AM

thanks man. for the lid, look on the sides where it hinges onto the tray, just stick a flathead in there and pry it up and off the metal rods which it pivots on. just be careful, cuase i could never get those dam springs on again

Dave@Accolade Feb 21, 2005 01:23 AM

greenpsycho, what is the underside made of ?

03lancOZ Feb 21, 2005 04:39 AM

i believe for that price... the pieces are overlayed.. just like it says, carbon fiber overlayed your stock parts.... still looks good regardless

GreenPsycho Feb 21, 2005 05:47 AM

yeah, what 03lancoz said.

and the cf is stuck pretty good to the stock trim. they drilled a ton of little holes, and i guess epoxied the cf to the trim, then epoxied over it for the finish. i tried to peel a little corner off and i honestly couldn't

MephistoKnight Feb 21, 2005 10:05 AM

Where the pics at ???? :D

GreenPsycho Feb 21, 2005 11:30 AM

/\ /\ /\
umm, pics are there, aren't they?

Hotshot940 Feb 21, 2005 11:35 AM

they are on the first page

pgmike Feb 21, 2005 11:37 AM

wow that looks really nice, i want the HVAC piece but i dont know if it would match the rest of my cf dash

NocturnalEVO Feb 21, 2005 11:45 AM

Can FIBERCATION overlay ANYTHING u send them? or just these pieces that you got done?

Nobody offers a triple gauge A-pillar pod in cf, so I was thinking of ordering a black triple gauge pillar pod, and having it shipped out with my passenger side A-pillar, plus my B and C pillars to get wrapped in CF.

Also, does the CF from FIBERCATION match the CF on ur wing? (random question, but just curious)

(oopz nevermind u got a lancer hehe, sorry :p )

GreenPsycho Feb 21, 2005 12:58 PM

fibercation could overlay your girlfriend in CF if you were into that, and lets face it fellas, who isn't?

anywho, yeah, just contact them and let them know what you want, and then arrange money and shipping.

i actually heard fibercation did a full evo set for someone, like the whole interior

SlowRyd Feb 21, 2005 04:44 PM
