Oz gauges (I know it's been covered.. but?)
I know there's plenty of threads on this, but I couldn't find anything about this. When you sitch the ES gauge for the OZ, do the seatbelt light and all those lights still work, I know on the OZ the lights are where it says Lancer. So when you switch them out what changes?
yes they still work.
they are in a different place. but they work. |
So the lights on the bottom of the ES gauge, do those come out, or are there spots for the lights and they just dont work?
Nvm, I saw a pic and see that there are no bottome lights. Also would a dealership have no problem selling you an OZ Gauge cluster? I want to get a brand new one.
Dealership should have no problem ripping you off for a cluster. And yes, all the lights still work (seatbelt, CEL, door, etc.). There's two harnesses that plug in and as long as it lights up in your ES cluster, it should light up in the OZ cluster.
It'll cost you around $6xx for a new OZ gauge cluster. I already tried that, and it'll cost you another extra $5x to transfer the old miles from your old speedometer to the new OZ speedometer.
Damn, $6xx? And I heared your odometer can just start over at 000 miles... You don't need to set the new one to the old one do you?
Edit: Heh, sorry edited the post. |
lol a lot more than 150... you can't get a good used one for 150 anymore.
Someone was finding out something about reverse indiglo gauges, I might wait and see what the deal is on those?
That's gonna be your best bet. And depending on how they turn out, I'd sell my OZ cluster.
For a 'reputable' :mitsu: dealer or speedo shop to do the work - meaning that they have the necessary means to reprogram the new cluster to the mileage of your old one - I highly doubt they'd let you out the door with '000' showing.
I think swapping a cluster in this fashion would (eventually) affect your vehicle' s title. It'd throw a big red flag to Carfax type bureaus since at your next state inspection your 'new' mileage is actually less than that recorded during the previous inspection. I think at that point the vehicle would be flagged as 'true miles unknown' unless some type of an odometer replacement/adjustment sticker is placed on the car when the work was done. Obviously if one doesn't care about resale ability then this isn't a factor |
