Low pro's on OZ rims

Imma be changing my tires soon, so I was thinking about putting low profile tires on my OZ rims. Anyone think it's a good idea or not? I know it'll mess up the speedometer and mileage, but I only care about the way it looks. I have my car lowered by progress and I think putting low proflie tires will make it look even lower. Also if anyone HAS put low profile tires on the OZ rims, please post pictures here if u have any {thumbup}

I probably wouldnt.... I think the wheels would look way too small. I wouldnt do low pro tires without buying larger rims.

hell why not get some 13" daytons 120 spoke in Gold and put white wall negative offset tires on kareem?

Dont do it

Lose the 15"s, Kar33m!

I refuse to post pix on the grounds that it may incriminate (read ban) me.

On a lighter note. Unless you're balling, I'd go for @ least 18" rims rather than low profile or tire swap on the "stock" OZ 15"s.

I dropped my ryde with the Progress Pro Kit. Hella fugly gap, even when I had the 17" C4s.

Anyhoooooooo...It's all good. Wadeva floats Ur boat.

Just my $.02, bro.

That depends on how low pro you are planning on going. If you mean a 50 series tire, that would look tight, especially if you go with 205/50/15 or maybe 215/50/15 which would not be too terribly far off from stock. But there are some problems with going even smaller than that:

1) you have weight in your trunk which will pinch 35-45 profiles and most likely damage the rim.
2) low profile on stock rims mean smaller diameter. Aside from the odometer being off, you will also get a large amount of ugly looking fender gap (the reason people get 17" rims)
3) smaller means odometer reads high, mph reads high, and you will get lower gas mileage (although faster acceleration)

Someone on the forum has done that and posted pics, i forgot their name---but i would at least get 17 in wheels. Just save up and get them, the side profile of our car is pretty large in the back (compared to the front) and anything smaller than 17in looks goofy. (Unless you auto-X and would use 16in light weight wheels) But looks-wise, save up and get the 17's. :mitsu:

I've got 215/50/15's on my car. Beleive it or not, it improves the look of the car without a drop and it WON'T mess with your gauges. {thumbup}

Kareem, MrMeaner has a good point. I was thinking of 205/55/15 or 205/50/15 myself, any of those should offer a lower profile look without sacrificing fender gap or safety.

Just for ****s and giggles, go to www.discounttire.com and fill in all the info for our cars. Then when selecting a tire size select "plus zero". This is the tire size I have which has a lower profile and doesn't sacrifice your mileage or acceleration. {thumbup}

dont waste your money on low pro 15'' tires. just get the whole deal. youll be sorry when you do and see a huge wheel gap. ack!

personally, i think it would look kinda ghetto-fabulous. if that's what you're going for, then by all means.
