And yes... I am posing with my mocked front mount intercooler right now ;)

good luck with the build. by the way, that looks like a cast iron evo manifold not megan manifold. and you should be using the walbro 255 fuel pump. and you not going to need egt if your getting wideband. what about fuel injectors or fmu?
|
The cast iron manifold was mixed with the pics I took, I have the megan now.
I was going with a supra tt fuel pump, it's 280lph. Even though I don't need that much.. it's cheaper. I forgot to list the wrx 440cc injectors. fmu, I was planning on using the safc to tune?.. At least that's what I thought I 've read other people have done. |
coo, Its lot of work but it is worth it. Good luck

Ordered my o2 housing & oil feed / return lines.. should be here soon.
What have you other 4g94T guys done about gauge mounts? I can't seem to find an a-pillar double gauge pod mount anywhere |
Small update.
I got my O2 Housing in today, the oil feed lines should be here tomorrow. Here's a pic of me just test fitting the turbo w/ my manifold & o2 housing: http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/956/img0990t.jpg |
I have that same turbo setup except without the manifold, I have to gridnd down the edges of the O2 housing because the bolts wouldnt go down all the way straight when are you going to start building?
|
I plan to start within 1 or 2 weeks. Really just depends how fast my old stuff on ebay sells lol.
|
Good luck with the build

Thanks rkque ;)

New update.
Well, pretty much for the last 7 days I've been drilling 2 extremely annoying studs out on my turbo and finally got through. I had to use a drill press, and it still took soooo... long, I'd say 20+ hours... Anywho, I retapped the turbo on the o2 housing flange, I'm using studs with wave washers (metric lock washers) to hold the o2 housing down. I also purchased my fittings for my coolant lines on my turbo as you can see below, they are an a/n fitting with a barbed 1/2" adapter attached to those a/n fittings, when they are put on my turbo they will be sealed with a thread sealer. the fittings also have an o-ring to prevent any leaking. Additionally I purchased some clear, high-temp resistant line for the coolant to flow through (rated to 600F I believe.. maybe more. I'm hoping the ambient heat from my manifold won't melt the lines.) I received my 4g93/4 flange from bmc a few days ago as well, I am going to reweld the flange onto my megan 4g63 manifold, I will most likely have to cut in about an inch from the g63 flange, and cut it there. I will then use 1" t304 steel straight tubing and weld it to the g94 flange, and position it to fit flush with the g63 manifold. As you can see the outermost ports on the g63 megan manifold don't line up with the g94 flange (By about, 1/3" maybe?) This is why I chose to use the 1" cut method with tubing for the manifold, so I get complete flow without that 1/3" blockage being there if I were to just cut and reweld. If you guys use the megan manifold as well, let me know how ya'll ended up doing the manifold to fit the g94 head. Received my o2 housing, pretty nice looking piece if I do say so myself. I have the following things on their way in the mail as we speak. - Evo VIII J-pipe + gasket - Braided Oil Feed / Return lines with all the fittings and gaskets needed to use them - 2, 2"x12" mini radiator fans, since I will have to remove the stock ones and use these fans on the opposite side where the stock ones were to fit my turbo. Things I plan on ordering/buying in the next 7 days - - FP Wastegate Actuator w/ 5-10psi spring for evo VIII turbo - evo 8 downpipe (most likely will have to modify to mount to the '03 lancer cat-converter flange, haven't checked yet though) - Intercooler piping After all that, I still need the following: - Bov (probably going with greddy type s) - Tactrix harness/cable for ECU Flash - A-pillar gauge pod - AEM Wideband A/F Gauge - EGT Gauge - Boost Gauge (Found a barely used complete greddy one in Bar that I'll most likely buy for $50-$60) Probably have about, $500 more in parts to buy, but I'm getting there. I can't wait for the install and tuning =) ALSO!! I took a peak at my engine bay to see how I'm going to have to run my hotside intercooler piping, and it looks like I might have to move my windshield washer fluid resevoir? If you guys have pics of how you ran it, please post it up so I can take a look! =) Thanks! whats the website that you got the flange from again?
|
It's called BMC Racing, it's this: http://www.bmcrace.com/
Edit: It's the 4g93 flange you have to buy, the g93 & g94 exhaust header flange are the same |
