3 to 4 inches. Have you check your clearences. It sounds like you will have a whole bunch of rubbing issues. Will you be able to turn your steering wheel to full lock without the wheels hitting anything? I think you will greatly comprimise the safety of your vehicle lowering it that much. The lowest I ever went on my coilover set up on my Lancer was about two inches. Even that low I had rubbing issues and I was using 15" wheels with a little bit wider tire. (205/55-15) I hope you think about what you are going to do before you move foward with this.

There's way more to handling that just slamming the car to the ground under the pretense of lowering the center of gravity. You have to take into account proper suspension travel and geometry.

the kyb is like stock replacement, if you want performance go with neuspeed springs and koni shocks, or just go with coilovers

dropped spring setup help

Im planning on getting some H&R Sport Springs but i am also interested in what set up you guys have for your lancers i want a drop of about 1.8 all around when its settled but also without blowing the bank I'm looking to spend about 400 and this is including shocks and springs only as i read that there are no real good aftermarket struts ill just get regular struts but definately would like to get good shocks to go with the H&R Sports

Thanks for bumping a 3 year old thread with a question that could be answered easily by searching, on here or Google.

Good luck getting it under $400

I just replaced my shocks/struts with kyb struts an tein s-tech springs.
struts were $350
springs were $170

the kyb struts however didn't come with bump stops or boots so I had to buy all those, and new bushing set for rear so that cost me an extra ~$100 (I can't confirm if other struts come with or without boots/bushings)

Here is a quote from my suspension help thread:

(4x) Struts:

(2x) Strut bushing kit: (EDIT: ONLY NEED 2 BUSHING KITS FOR REAR STRUTS)

(2x) Front strut boots:

(2x) Rear strut boots:

The strut bushing and boots cost me an extra ~$150 dollars on top of the $350 for struts and $170 for springs
That should be everything you need to purchase. You must reuse the mounts from the old struts.

Thanks for the help I actually went ahead and purchased some H&R's from the tire rack I expanded my budget and also picked up staff shock and struts which I've heard a lot of good reviews about all over the net...once again thank you for your insight

Then you should look in the 2008+ Lancer section, not the 2002-2007 Lancer section.
