I can get a set of 4 new Tein springs for $100 for my 2006 Lancer ES. I have a couple of questions: What kind of benefit is there to installing these springs? Will it make the ride stiffer? It already rides pretty stiff on 17" wheels and low pro tires. I know it will lower the car about 1.5 inches. Also, how much approximately does it cost to install these? thanks for your help.

Install price? unknown, I did the install myself. It isn't tooo hard if you have the proper tools. I have a 2002 lancer and I just upgraded my springs to tein s-techs as well as brand new kyb gr2 struts and the ride is considerably stiffer than stock. It does look nice lowered, but you are sacrificing ride quality. You also have to drive much more carefully on lowering springs to prevent blowing your struts quickly.

i ended up taking mine to a garage because i couldn't get the bolts out of the lower control arm, they were melted into the aluminum bushings. it cost me like $200 for install. my car looks a hell of a lot better. but it is a very bouncy ride which sometimes gets really annoying depending on what road you're on
