That's what I thought, you guys have the same front calipers as the Ralliarts. Bonus for you guys, you can find some good pads for cheap, such as Axxis Ultimates for $50 on eBay.
Here's some handy info I collected awhile ago on brake pads, you guys will probably find it useful. The FMSI is the "official" reference for a particular size/style of brake pad. This info may be a bit old (1+ year) so there's probably even more options, especially from Hawk. Well, I was looking on partsamerica.com tonight, and you can cross reference brake pads. It seems the new lancer's pads are the same as 01-05 Chrysler Sebring, 07 Dodge Caliber, 01-07 Eclipse, 01-07 Galant, 04-06 lancers, and some others, check their site for the exact models of these, but, that SHOULD mean performance pads for those vehicles will fit the '08 lancer (at least the ES, that's all I checked).
Just figured I'd throw this out there for you all. Sean here's a link to the compatibility chart for Raybestos brakes for the 08 lancer.http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductG...number=RPD866M |

Has anyone actually tried using brake pads that are for another vehicle like listed in Otters post?
Where did Otter get this info at? Those listings for HAWK pads for our car are rear only, so isnt it possible that those other vehicles listed may not work for the front? Also, has anyone heard anything about any big name companies making rotors for our car? Blacksheep, anymore news about those brake lines you had mentioned at one point? |

Otter's info is assuming that the 08 has similar pads to the Ralliart models. And that's based off partsamerica.com's cross-reference service, which claims that the Lancer pads match multiple other cars (not sure if that's actually true, but I have gone to the site and seen it). Mostly this is just posted for information purposes and the hope that someone will try it. I tried to make sure that the parts of the post where people said "this should work" were still there. Hawk might just not be aware of all the cross-referencing. Or maybe partsamerica.com is wrong. It's hard to say. Just StopTech, the company that makes the rotors RRM sells (AFAIK). Brake hoses are available from RRM (front only). Word on the street is that Works should be releasing a full (front AND rear) set in the near future. |

The way I determine what brakes will work is based off of the FMSI number. Each brake pad design has a unique number assigned to it. The 04-06 Ralliarts and the 08+ Lancers have the same FMSI number for the front pads, thus they're identical.
Also updated the post to match the updated info I put up in the Ralliart section. These calipers are now being used on many Chrysler models. |

Oo, I forgot to add that the 08 Lancer ES shares the same rear pads as the Ralliart. I'll add that to the above posts. As a warning to ES owners, if you intend to order rear pads, do so early. I'm finding that nobody keeps them in stock, so you have to wait awhile to get them.
For whatever reason, the GTS doesn't have the same rear caliper as the ES, so that should be noted. The rear Hawk pads listed above won't work on the GTS. |
