Evo engine,tranny swap

would it be possible if you swap out the center & rear diff. i know mirages the have gone thru and done evo V swaps and the 8 engine is basically the same, would the rear diff. fit? im guessing that you would have to trim some of the trunk base to fit it in there

yeah probably. we do have the same frame as the VIII, so i don't see why it wouldn't fit. the only thing tho would be that the tire track is wider.

And the gas tank is in the way for a driveshaft. And the rest of the swap issues.....

probably wont be able to do it until next year i dont have the 10grand + for the swap yet

I had a theory that the Lancers could take the rear subframe, differential, and fuel tank from the AWD Outlander, being it uses the Lancer chassis. This assumes that any increase in ride height is due to larger tires and longer struts. Needless to say, the Outlander bits would be a heck of a lot cheaper than Evo parts. Might be worth looking into for anyone seriously interested in the conversion, and if no one has tried it and failed yet.
