So yeah, my clutch is burnt out. I burnt it out while comming home from school, a thirty mile commute at best. I was a stop light and the car just wouldn't move past five miles per hour. So I pulled the car over at a Church and called my dad, seeing as the car is still in his name. He called for a tow truck and had it towed to a Mitsu dealership.

The good thing is that my clutch might still be covered under warranty. I have 35,600 miles and my drivetrain coverage ends at like 36,000 miles. (400 miles left, I didn't even know that till I looked at my owners manual) But this being Mitsu and from what I hear about their servicing of clutches on modded cars (see my sig), I'll most likely have to pay them crazy amounts of money. So right now I'm looking at alternatives. Hopefully they give a quote that is astronomical cause that's what they do right?

I would do the install myself but my father has no faith in me and thinks I'm a complete idiot. Which is nice, seeing as he's my dad. Thanks dad, you are cool! I was trying to keep this under his radar and install the clutch myself with the help of N1te and Jotun, but my dad is now involved and he wants me to write out a list of alternatives so he can buy a clutch and get it serviced and hold it over my head. It's nice having a dad that plays mind games. Hey if I get an aftermarket clutch over the stocker I'll be happy, my relationship with my dad is crap but hey, who needs a caring father who cares about my piddly little life and hobbies? (sorry for the whining/crying but if you new my father you'd hate him too... actually that's not true, if you knew my father chances are you'd love him and he'd love you right back... it's his son, ie me that he's not so much liking, ever... his loss right? Issues yes... I'm venting.)

Thanks for all your help guys.

Where did this end up? Fox did you get an aftermarket clutch or did you get an OEM replacement?

Oh... I got a Works Stage 1 clutch, had to refurbish the flywheel and also replaced the Throw Out Bearing. The clutch took awhile and I was without my car for about three weeks. My car is back and the clutch feels sloid. It's so much more grabby than the old one.

We were going to see if the car could be serviced under my drivetrian waranty but after hearing them say, "You probably don't know how to drive a car correctly..." My dad fliped a lid and said "F-you!" and called his mechanic.

End of story. Car drive so much better now. Feels great.

Wow Fox, three weeks? That's insane! Why didnt you have some friends help you do the install? I know if I lived by you I would've gladly helped. Do you have any friends that could have helped u with it; and if so why didn't you do that?
