short shifter installed, have question

Hey guys I just finished my bm shortshifter install along with the kartboy base bushings. everything went really smoothly until the end when i noticed that at the base where the pivot ball on the shifter goes into the pivot cup was crooked a bit. i mean that the linkage cable is twisted slightly so that the pivot cup is twisted a bit to the right instead of being completely level with the groud. this is only a slight twist but nevertheless i wanted to be safe.

i ran the shifter through the gears and it feels a bit stiff getting into gear but i'm pretty sure that is how it's supposed to be. i decided last night that the pivot cup thing most likely was not an issue and took the car out and drove for 45 minutes with no problems to report. The throw was reduced by so much! So, it feels stiff, a little hard to get into gear but that seemed to go away with practice, and it felt amazing. i've got a feeling the bushings have something to do with it too.

SO, it the slight twist in the linkage cable going to be a problem? Thanks for the help guys.

I can't imagine it is. I don't think it's meant to be perfectly straight. As long as it works, you're good.

dont' worry about it unless it doesn't allow you to shift properly into gears
