Synthetic in a M/T?
Has anyone tried out synthetic yet? I'm considering switching mine out to hopefully get rid of a whine from 1st gear, the notchiness, and that 3rd gear knuckle thing from time to time.
I found that Redline makes 3 varieties of GL-4 gear oil, which is supposed to be an updated GL-3. Mitsu calls for 75w80 weight GL-3 gear oil.
Would there be any issues switching to the 70w80 synthetic?
Also, could any warranty issues arise from this?
Really, I'm hoping for some good feedback from someone who has already done this. Failing that, maybe I need to take it back to the dealer and make them look at the thing again.
Thanks for any good input folks.
