Will tranny hold up

I just got a new lancer. Sorry to say its a auto. Im looking to get a RRM turbo kit and was wondering how the auto will hold up. I really would hate having to replace trannys every six months. Another question is if anyone out there has got the RRM turbo, how is it in a auto. Is it worth doing or no. Thanks for the help.

contact gurudel, he has an turbod auto lancer. with rrms kit you shoulndt have any problems as long as you do not boost it more than they suggest. you will not bea able to boost as much as a manual. no turbo is worth teh money for the lancer imo unless money means nothing to you or you can get it used so cheap.

i asked the same question a few weeks back. I think the auto lancer guys are going at about 6 lbs of boost. And so far no one has messed up there tranny.

pgmike May 8, 2004 03:59 PM

if i remember correclty ntran999 had an auto and blew his tranny, but he could have blown something else. some oldschooler correct me if im wrong.

heh, even without turbo, many auto tranny lancer guys have messed up trannies..Im one of them. Ask Kar33m also..he has the same thing with me: notchy, hard shifting, too much time in between shifts, etc.

my shifter feels the same and im a 5speed.

bobaab, youre an OG, what did ntran do to his lancer?

bobaab May 8, 2004 04:11 PM

ntran? is he a member on here? i dont think ive ever seen that name on here..unless u're shortening someone else's name.

I just recieved this e-mail from Level 10 Performance today:

Dear Enthusiast,
We do offer 2 upgrades for applications such as yours and they are a pts hydrosystem upgrade and a pts torque converter upgrade. They will get rid of all the lag and the hesitation off the start and shave off anywhere from 1/2-1 second off 1/4 mile times. Now pts hydrosystem upgrade will get rid of the factory lazy luxury shifts and replace them with throttle oriented shifts. They make transmission much more responsive to power upgrades and transmission then can with stand the punishment of forced induction or power adders (i.e. nitrous).
Your torque converter and valve body is needed to recalibrate and upgrade which will then be turned around with in 3 business days.
pts hydrosystem upgrade $698.
pts torque converter upgrade stage 1 $498 2400 stall speed.
pts torque converter upgrade stage 2 $498 2600 stall speed.
pts torque converter upgrade stage 3 $525 2600+ (with increased efficiency for forced induction turbo, nitrous, supercharger system)
Now if you think you would like to add force induction to your vehicle then we STRONGLY suggest you do stage 3 even if you are not running the power adders yet (It will not hurt at all)

Thank You for contacting Level 10 Products
Sincerely,
Sam Ismail
