Automatic Transmission upgrades?
i was wondering what all you would have to do to upgrade an AT to be able to handle 275+ HP and where to get the parts for it. Also would the company have to install/upgrade at the shop, and what are some prices? :helpme:

well RRM (www.roadracemotorsports.com) has what you would want. Tubo, ECU, Intake, Downpipe or test pipe, High-flo Cat, Headers, Forged Pistons, Rods, Bored Throttle Body, intake manifold. that should get you pretty close. Hell if you really want that much buy the evo8 engine and have a shop put it in.(could happen!!!expesive!but then u get 271hp stock.)

hehe for the auto tranny there are a few specialized companies like level10 and a few others that will rebuild your tranny to handle stupid horse power but it also will set you back around 3,500

does level10 have a web page or how can i contact them...what do they do to set me back that much? 3500 seems like a lot... :crap:

As to an answer for your question i would also recommend www.levelten.com |
I was just thinking the same thing! The above post made absolutely no attempt whatsoever to even remotely answer the question! Anyway, getting the tranny rebuilt would probably be the only way to handle 275+ horsepower, and levelten is a well-known company. Has anybody on this forum blown up their tranny yet as a result of too much power? I know there are a few turbo automatics here, so I too am curious as to how they hold up under the power.

I have anew mission in life, and it is to get a tourque converter upgrade! :D
