Must fix annoying rattle!!!!
ok guys im hoping someone had had this and fixed it before and can tell me how. Ive got a solid sounding rattle coming from what sounds to be the rear passenger quarter of my cabin. I cant find the damn thing. Ive pulled the trunk all apart gotten in there and cant find anything loose . . . ? Anyone had this issue as well ?
probably the rear deck and/or the seatbelt assembly... buckle the seatbelts in the back of the car and see if it helps. i had a mean rattle from the rear deck but i forgot what fixed it considering how many different fixes i tried.
i cut down to a single 12 in the trunk which isn't rattle-the-crap-out-of-your-body-loud, but it's enough bass for me. i barely have my radio on anyway... i prefer the 4 cylinder symphony under the hood, haha.

Chaos, your rattle could be a bunch of stuff. It could be your trunk liner, it could be a plastic trim, it could even be a penny stuck under the seat. My advise to you, take the trunk liner and plastic trim out(the trim that is right behind the seat and goes around the hole in the trunk "wall").
If taking all of that out doesn't solve you rattle, it will at least help you pinpoint the source of the sound as it will eliminate a bunch of possibilities. Also look in the spare well. Make sure everything is tighten properly down there.
The only Del Sol I rode in is my friends 11psi stock block T3/T4 setup & the only thing I can hear is the open DP, turbo spoolin, and the BOV! Brings a smile to my face every time!

If the rear deck of your lancer is identical to the Evo, then there's a thin layer of something like aluminum plate under the covering, and wherever it comes in contact with the actual deck, you'll have a rattle.
The way I fixed it was to remove the rear speaker grills, and start inserting thin foam inserts under the material --- you'll see what I'm talking about. If you use enough foam you'll have a quiet deck. This was my way of recycling all of my using Meguiar's applicator pads! They worked great for this.
